Someone had a bunch of these dirty gems flowing through him and thus was too sick to write the recaps.
Maybe he'll double up next week
(or maybe not)
Trash Can Talk
Forget the Mueller's Investigation into Russia's Collusion and election meddling.., there is nothing to find.., Trump won and there was not a Russian Commandant inside the voting booth with a Russian Luger pointing at the voters heads. #WitchHunt
We need Mueller to refocus his efforts on the Over-30 League and the potential "Italian Collusion" that is taking place within the league.
Mauro Colucciello is on the clock to clean up his brother’s mess and score 6-measly goals that John Colucciello failed to do for his "Pink Stick Bag Challenge"
There is a lot of US Currency on the line here.., and some of that currency is coming from (or going to)Luigi DeRenzis who has a vested interest in seeing his cousin Mauro succeed and make up for John's failure which cost Luigi $20
Last week was the first time Mauro played against cousin Luigi and guess what? Yep, you guessed correctly.., Luigi's "Defense"(or lack of) allowed Mauro to score 2-goals in the tilt and he is now 33% complete.
We can only hope that this Saturday February 2nd (Groundhog Day) that Punxsutawney Phil "Does not see" his shadow and it's an early spring so Mauro and the rest of Italian Collusion Syndicate can hit the golf courses early.., that's his only chance at failing the "Pink Stick Bag Challenge"
Poor Dave Giusti it must be tough suffering from PTSD Flashbacks as to the only reason we can give for you letting up 5-goals in the first 5-Minutes and 17-seconds of the game.
Dave could have had a flashback to a few seasons back when "The Great One" Matty Iannello put an end to his phenomenal debut when Dave started his rookie season with back-to-back shutouts (and cruising to a third) before "The Incident".
Dave just in case it is PTSD we recommend you stop reading as we are about to explain your 5-goal shelling to start the game.
We're speculating that Dave may be suffering some long term effects as a result of "The Incident" that brought Dave shutout streak to an end and also put him out for the season.
If you recall.., Matty was pushed into Dave by his own teammate and after trying to finish the game let up 2-goals (shutout streak over and season over) and he's never been quite the same since.
Just a quick shout out to newly active full-time player Dan Hill(No relation to the Anchor - Dave Hill).
Now that your check cleared and you're full-time.., this is the part of the website where your playing antics and mishaps will be spotlighted for all to read.
So far so good; the front office says you swing both ways (Forward and Defense).., last week you looked good on defense and your induction into the league is under the tutelage of "The Great One"Matty Iannello so enjoy and welcome to the Over-30 League.
Kariya & Correia
What's the difference between Paul Kariya and Paul Correia?
We have no F'n idea.., but we do know that Paul Correia had himself natural hattrick last week after being down 5-0.
Paul had the hot hands during Coach's Corner attempted comeback at the impossible.., so much so that the fans were cheering "Let Paul Play!!" while he sitting during the weening minutes of almost comeback loss.
Black Hole players Joe Mancinelli, Sergio Costa, Jason Carrien and Rick Cassano all missed prime opportunities to tie the game for their team late in the 3rd period.
Without out their ace closer Matt Farrell.., Black Hole had plenty of chances and opportunities to take the game into OT and continue their unbeaten to three.., but we still debating if Rhino Goaltender Scotty Rosato was just that good.., or was the missed opportunities just that bad?
Walk of Shame
Although there was plenty of missed opportunities for Black Hole.., Dave Costa thought Rick Cassano's was the most flagrant and that Ricky should have been doing the walk of shame with underwear in hand as he walked of the dek after last week's wide open net with just seconds to play.
Plus if you’re going to miss easy tap in goals.., there is no worse place to do it than right in front of Scoreboards Pub.
Niko Vramis has at least for one week redeemed himself. After taking a little heat in the media for his pointless start.., Niko bounced back with a goal and an assist last week.., buuuut, the assist wasn't really an assist.
He'll get credit on the scoring sheet as an assist.., but it was really a missed shot that Captain John Kelleherhad to clean up for him. John wants to ensure all the Vulcan Black sticks that are in service earn points for their owners
The Power of 10?
In mathematics, a power of 10 is any of the integer powers of the number ten; in other words, ten multiplied by itself a certain number of times (when the power is a positive integer). By definition, the number one is a power (the zeroth power) of ten.
Too bad the “Power of 10” doesn't apply to hockey as both teams that had 10-players on their bench lost to team with less than 10 and games that should have been a win.., turned into a losses for Coach's Corner and Black Hole because both teams did not use the "Power of 10" by forechecking and running down and tiring the opposition.
Everyone knows when you're playing against a team that is shorthanded.., you run them and you run them.., and finally you run them. You cannot take your foot off the gas and play conservatively because sooner or later someone is going to turn a mistake into a goal
There are two things you don't want to see from the Over-30 League in your email inbox.
The first is a forced retirement letter.., because that means the game has passed you by and the league is going in "another direction" without you.
The second is a "Pink Slip" from the league essentially laying you off for the season.
There were no forced retirement letters sent.., but last week (2) Pink Slips were drafted and sent. One to a player we never met and the other to a player we barely saw play these past 15-games.
The League's Front Office has said it time and time again.., above the money, the players, the draft, the league insists on "Commitment". It's a privately run and drafted league and the whole draft equation are based on balancing the league.., but it's the "Commitment" that makes the balance work.
Neither player was permanently terminated by the league.., but instead laid off until next season when they can have another chance at proving commitment to the league and the other 11-guys on your team that are counting on you to be part of the team.
Once again the webmaster is left fielding questions on why someone got screwed out of points. This is not just a Ray Nickerson thing.., this is becoming an epidemic.
Here's our advice; you just set up a game winning goal.., or you blocked a shot that resulted in a change of possession and goal.., if you have the slightest doubt that your hard fought efforts are about to go unnoticed on the scoring sheet (you’re probably going to be right).., so what we suggest is you walk over to the timekeepers box and listen closely to the numbers they are calling out.., and if your number was not called.., that would be the best time to lobby for your points. Don't be shy.., you have to be your own points advocate.
Can you imagine how many points Ray Nickerson would actually have.., 1250?, 1500? If he wasn't "FU€#ED out of another assist"
Make sure you heard your number being called.
