Playing more like Randy “Stumpy” Burridge this season, Joe got motivated and stepped up offensively, scoring 4 goals to lead his team’s offense in winning for the third time in their last four games, as they make a playoff push. Staying focused all game, Joe scored twice in the first period, once in the second and once in the third period.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-11-17
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Jim Barberof Trojan Horse. As we are still pinching ourselves to see if we are dreaming this, Jim surprised not only his opponents but also his team mates by scoring 2-goals and adding 1-assist, as his two goals scored in thirty seconds during the second period, turned a deficit into the lead for his team that they never relinquished. Maybe we should not be surprised as not writing a new Forum for 2 weeks seems to have freed up Jim’s focus onto goal scoring……….Shame!
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-4-17
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Jake Deehanof Team Cherry. Jake stopped all 24 shots he faced in his game. In doing so, Jake posted his second shutout of the season becoming the league leader in shutouts posted by a goalie. Jake’s play has been under the radar this season as he has been quietly moving up the goalie leaders with consistent play week to week.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-4-17
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Paul Correiaof Team Cherry. Odelay, the Portuguese prodigal son has returned to the Over-30 league! In only his second game played since his return, Paul made an impact for his team, scoring 1-goal and adding 1-assist in his team’s shutout victory and second win in their last three games. Woooooo!
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-28-17
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to John Coluccielloof Fool’s Gold. It seems that Cooch’s pre-game ritual of getting a hug from Kellie before his game finally paid off! Cooch led the way for his team to victory as he jump started the offense by scoring the game’s first two goals two minutes into the game, then added two assists, as his team won its third straight game. By the way Cooch you bastard, the league has mandated a new policy going forward of “no pre-game hugs with the Director’s wife.”
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-28-17
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Scott Rosato of Trojan Horse. Scott’s play for his team may fly under the radar at times and not get noticed but he has played very consistent this season, as evidenced by his team’s record. Scott helped his team get back into its winning ways by recording his first shutout of the season, stopping all 20 shots he faced.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-21-17
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Jason Carrienof Team Cherry. Jason had quiet an all-around game as he became the first defenseman to score a hat trick in a game, while also adding an assist. In scoring the game’s first two goals for his team he set the tempo for his team in a convincing blowout victory while also playing solid defense to preserve his goalie’s shutout. With his scoring production, Jason now leads his team in goals and points.

This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to John Careyof Maybe One. John played a solid game all around with some smart decision making on defense and timely jumping into the offense at strategic times. His goal late in the first period jump started his team’s offense as he started in his own defensive zone, made a great self-pass off the boards, jumped into the offense and buried his shot down low.

This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Tony Medeirosof Blues Brothers. With his team missing their entire second line and playing short-handed, Tony, aka the “Portuguese Power”, single-handedly broke open a close game in the third period, scoring a natural hat trick and adding an assist, to lead his team to victory and back into first place in the standings.

This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to John Kelleherof Fool’s Gold. Usually this award goes to the player who goes unnoticed in their game but still makes an impact. Leaving no doubt that his team would win this game, John made quite an impact in the five goal first period, as he scored 2-goals and added an assist, then went on to set up another two goals later in the game. All this filling in and playing defense for his team.

This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Sergio Costaof Fool’s Gold. With his team locked in a low scoring battle and needing someone to step up, Sergio did, scoring 2-goals to lead the way on offense. After which Sergio could be heard asking if anyone could smell what the Serg was cooking.

This week’s Five Guys award co-winner # 1 goes to Todd Brysonof Blues Brothers. The rookie played an impactful role in his team’s performance.
With his Blues Brothers team missing its top two players and captain and facing off against the only other undefeated team in the league, Todd Bryson elevated his game by stepping up an scoring the game’s first 2-goals. In the battle of titans, Todd’s goals held up for most of the game, as his undermanned team outplayed their opponent, to ensure that his team walked away with points from this game.
This week’s Five Guys award co-winner # 2 goes to Sean Roachof Fool's Gold. The rookie played an impactful role in his team’s performance.
Missing three of his defenseman and his team looking to keep pace in the standings, goalie Sean Roach of Fool’s Gold played a huge role in his team winning their game. Locked in a defensive battle, with goals at a premium, Sean stopped 28 out of 29 shots he faced, many at key moments of the game, to lead his team in a much needed win.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9-30-17
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Alby Luiseof Blues Brothers. With his team missing its captain and a big part of its offense, Alby stepped up big time in only giving up one goal and stopping 23 shots. Alby single-handedly kept his team in this game coming up with key save after key save until the offense got untracked. If it wasn’t for Alby, his team could have seen their first loss of the season instead of remaining undefeated.

Jeff played his best game of the season giving up only one goal and stopping 23 shots in back stopping his team to that all important first win of the season. Jeff was solid all game, looking sharp and coming up with that big key save when it was needed.

This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Shawn Mivilleof Trojan Horse. Shawn scored 2-goals, each at key moments of his game, in leading his Trojan Horse team to their third straight win. For Shawn it was his second straight multi-goal game that moved him near the top of the leading scorers race.

As the veteran player of the no name defense on his team, Alex continues to lead by example with his rink awareness and positional play.

Demonstrating once again why he is the best player in the Over-30 league and the real Portuguese Power (sorry Tony), Dominic got his team off to another fast start, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist in leading his team to another impressive victory. For the second week in a row, Dominic’s team played at a fast pace, constantly attacking the defense, and putting up six goals on the scoreboard.

This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Dan Broderickof Team Cherry. Why? Dan Broderick scored 2-goals in an Over-30 game. Again, Dan Broderick scored 2-goals in an Over-30 game. This has never happened before! Dan’s goals accounted for most of the offense for his team in their debut loss. Dan proved that like any aging veteran player trying to score goals, when the velocity of your shot decreases, you adjust by developing pinpoint accuracy and using other players as screens.

This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Mike Luiseof the Blues Brothers. Looking like the former top player from his Team USA days, Mike played a big offensive role in his team getting off to a good start this season, factoring in on two of the first three goals his team scored and then setting up two insurance goals. Mike ended up scoring 1-goal and 3-assists and can proudly say that after the first week of the new season he is the leading scorer of the Over-30 league.
