This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Jason Carrienof Team Cherry. Normally, the weekly awards are not presented to repeat winners during the season; however, we are making an exemption in this case. The NFL had Joe Namath. The NHL had Mark Messier. Two icons of their sports who publically guaranteed their respective teams would win championships and delivered on their promises. Earlier this season, Jason made a bold public guarantee that his team would qualify for the playoffs or he would retire. Mission accomplished! Jason set the tempo for his team by setting up the game’s first goal, playing shut down defense and informed the Over-30’s AARP former players group that he will not be joining them anytime soon.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 4-14-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Naz of Blues Brothers. It only took 4 years and close to 50 regular season games and a few playoffs games, but Naz finally scored his first goal in four years dating back to the 2014 season. With his team trailing by two goals in the second period, Naz jumped up into the offense and jammed home the rebound off a scramble out front to temporarily get his team back into the game. In addition, with his team playing short-handed, Naz played some major minutes on defense.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 4-7-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Niko Vramisof Fool’s Gold. With his team playing in a “must win” game, Niko stepped up his game to score in the first period then again in the second period to lead the way on offense. FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 4-7-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Sergio Costaof Fool’s Gold. Battling injuries all season, Sergio has struggled to score goals. However, with his team needing to win their game, Sergio picked the right time to score a huge goal (perhaps saving his team’s season). After jumping out to a three goal commanding lead then watching their opponent score twice in forty-seven seconds to get within one goal in the third period, Sergio changed this game around for his team by scoring only twenty seconds later on a great individual play in front of the net as he split the defense to score the momentum changing goal for his team.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-31-18

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-31-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Cappyof Trojan Horse. He didn’t factor onto the game sheet but his logging major minutes, quarterbacking his team’s defense, and playing shut down defense had a major impact on his team winning the game. It was just another week of Cappy playing consistent defensive hockey for his team.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-24-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Matt Farrellof Team Cherry. With his team trailing by two goals with just over two minutes to play against the team tied with them for that final playoff spot, Matt was the difference maker for his team, scoring 2-goals to tie the game and send this to overtime where his team pulled out a comeback win. If Team Cherry does make the playoffs, it will be Matt leading the way as he leads the team in goals and points.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-24-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Jim Barberof Trojan Horse. The webmaster played one of his best games this season, scoring the game winning goal, setting up the first and last goals of the game, and having his running legs going all game long. We even witnessed Jim actually taking his time looking around to make a play rather than sliding up and down the rink throwing the ball all over the rink.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-17-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Mike Luiseof Blues Brothers. In a must win game for his team, Mike stepped up on offense and scored two of his team’s three goals to earn a much needed point in the standings. Mike had his legs going all game and just missed scoring in overtime as well as setting up a team mate for the potential game winner. If Blues Brothers goes on a winning streak, Mike’s production will play a key role.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-17-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Todd Brysonof Blues Brothers. With his team needing to change their line combinations and jump start their offense, Todd was moved to defense as his team moved their best defenseman up front. FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-10-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Jeff Deharoof Maybe One. When it mattered most, Jeff came up with the big key save for his team in a tie game, giving them a chance to pull out the win late in the game. In the last ten seconds of the second period, Jeff flashed his glove to take away a sure goal. In the last three minutes of the game during a scramble out front, Jeff made a great shoulder save to keep the ball out of the net. Jeff’s efforts in net have played a key role in Maybe One’s second win of the season against the defending champs.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-3-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Joe Gustitusof Maybe One. With his team playing short-handed, missing five players, and having only one substitute, rookie Joe stepped up big time and had a major impact on the outcome of this game, both on offense as well as on defense. Joe scored his team’s first two goals, then set up the insurance goal with two minutes to play to lead his team to a shocking upset.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-3-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to George Medeirosof Fool’s Gold. George was running all game long, hustling all over the rink with constant fore-checking pressure on his opponent. George’s persistence paid off on the score sheet as he scored a big goal early in the third period that kept his team close with a chance to steal some points.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-24-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Scott Rosatoof Trojan Horse. With first place on the line this was a great week for Scott to have his best game of the season. Team Cherry threw everything they could at Scott, but he would stop all 34 shots he faced leading his team to first place alone in the standings.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-24-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Sean Roachof Fool’s Gold. Sean stood tall this week facing a hot Maybe One team. Sean was the difference in this game stopping all 30 shots he faced giving his team their second win in a row, and doing so moving his team into fourth place.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-17-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Mauro Coluccielloof Fool’s Gold. Playing in only his second game after being out of medical IR, Mauro helped ignite his team to break out and end his team’s four game losing streak by scoring the game’s first goal early in the first period, then add another goal late and set up the key insurance goal. Inspired by a pre-game pep talk, Mauro took that to heart and played hard all game with a solid all around effort.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-10-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Gary Goodwinof Team Cherry. Yes, you are reading this correctly, Gary Goodwin! Gary was the impact player for his team as he ignited a three goal outburst in the third period that turned a tie game into a convincing win for his team. Gary scored 2-goals and added 1-assist to factor into three of the four goals his team scored. For this week, Stonehands the runaway truck was Goal Scorer Sniper hands. On a side note, for one week we also didn’t hear Gary use his famous @%*& expletive at any time while on the rink.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-10-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Colleen O’Connell of Fool’s Gold. Colleen played solid defense all game, played a lot of minutes, broke up the Portuguese Connection multiple times in the game and made sure to keep the scoring chances to the perimeter. She just needs to work on stop giving Jamie the ball so much with an opposing player right behind him.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-3-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Matty Iannelloof Maybe One. Most week’s this award goes to the player who has the most points and impact in their game. Every so often other factors come into play. Matty did have a major impact on his team winning the game by scoring 2-goals (including the game winner in overtime) as well as setting up 2-goals. But it was his game strategy and in-game adjustments that also stood out as he outcoached his opponents captain in this game.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-3-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Jason Carrienof Team Cherry. For this week we are calling this the Five Guys Tough Guy award. Jason didn’t make the game sheet for points; rather he showed his toughness and durability by returning to the rink for overtime after taking a high stick that cut him above his eye. Wearing a Jim McMahonish headband made up of hockey tape above his eye, Jason played the entire overtime and helped inspire his team to earn a much needed point in the standings. Finally, the Over-30 league had it “Willis Reed moment.”
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-27-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Angelo Delucaof Trojan Horse. Angelo broke out offensively and had a major impact in his team’s latest win. With his team playing short-handed on defense, missing their top two defensemen, John played major minutes but also played a key role in his team’s big comeback win. With his team trailing heading into the third period, John’s breakout pass a minute in ignited the comeback. Just over two minutes later, John made a great individual play to come down the left point and his game winning goal through a screen was perfectly placed into the lower far corner.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-20-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Joe Mancinelliof Maybe One. Maybe we have it all wrong on Joe’s nickname of the Turtle. For this week, Joe played more like the Hare as he had a jump in his step and was running around all over the rink all game long. Joe sparked his team right at the start of the game scoring less than a minute in and then added a short-handed insurance goal in the second period in preserving his team’s shutout. Even his captain watching Joe run around was asking “who is this guy?”
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-20-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to John Mastrocolaof Maybe One. To say that John was flying all over the rink is an understatement. His hustle and energy did not produce any goals, but, this was not from a lack of opportunities. If John had mixed in some change of speeds occasionally, he probably would have scored a few goals. For over a month now, John’s hustle the entire game has stood out, regardless of the scores. It looks like his team mates have finally caught up to his style of play.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-13-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Tim Hickeyof Blues Brothers. We knew that Tim is one of the fastest players in the league as well as a top ranked goalie; however, we didn’t know he would be developing into one of the top scorers as well. DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-6-18
This week’s Dunkin Donut winnergoes to Dave Costaof Blues Brothers. The reigning Mike Hollingsworth MVD took a big step towards disproving that there are no repeat winners of the MVD award as Dave put his stamp on this game scoring 2-goals and adding 1-assist all while playing some shutdown defense. Dave scored the game’s first goal then added an insurance goal in the third period.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-6-18
This week’s Five Guys awardwinner goes to Dave Giustiof Blues Brothers. Originally just filling in for an injured Alby Luise in net, but now taking over between the pipes full time this season, Dave had quite a game, stopping all 30 shots he faced in recording the league’s first shut out of the season. Dave was especially sharp in the third period in preserving the shut out.
