2021 Déjà flu Players of the Week
A.A.R.P. Old timer award 3-27-2021 - Nick Romano
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-27-21

This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Manny Nunes of Drama Queens.  Typically, there are no repeat winners for this award unless a player’s performance stands out.  Manny’s performance stood out.  Trailing by two points in the leading scorer’s race, Manny took care of business by scoring a hat trick in winning his first-ever scoring title. With the pressure on knowing what he had to do, Manny made it look easy.  Congratulations Manny.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-27-21
This week’s Five Guys winner goes to Derrick Power of Shockwave.  Derrick may not have made it onto the score sheet, but he stood out all game long for his hustle, his fore checking and pressure on the defense and his non-hesitancy to shoot the ball, landing 4 shots on net.  His efforts all game long gave that second line an energy boost and could be the spark his team needs heading into the playoffs.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 3-20-2021 - Colleen O'Connell
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-20-21

This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Don Maccini of Drama Queens. Don didn’t win this weekly award because of his first step blazing speed, nor for his meticulous fashion sense of wearing all the best-looking equipment and clothes, nor for his uncanny routine of showing up early to his games.  No, Don won this for his adaptability to transition from defense to forward utilizing his playmaking ability to elevate the play of his line mates, as evidenced by his 1-goal and 1-assist in the game.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-20-21
This week’s Five Guys winner goes to Tim Hickey of Drama Queens.  Known as one of the fastest players in the league, if you give Tim a step, he is gone.  That same fore-checking speed can also create havoc on the opposing team’s defenses as evidenced by his assist on a late second period goal.  He may not be high up on the scorer’s list but Tim’s all around play this season and doing the little things has been noticed.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 3-13-2021 - Mike Roberto
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-13-21

This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Manny Nunes of Drama Queens.  With his team playing in a close game and trailing three times, Manny was locked in as the catalyst bringing them back to victory.  Manny scored 1-goal and had 3-assists as he factored in on four of his teams five goals scored to lead the way for Drama Queens clinching 1st place overall in the league standings.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-13-21
This week’s Five Guys winner goes to Jake Deehan of Jake-O-Lanterns.  It’s been a solid turnaround season for Jake who has been on a roll in net, showing every week he is deserving of all the accolades coming his way.  For the first time this season, the leader in the goalie race is the old Jake, not the new Jake.  Jake stopped all 30 shots he faced to record his second shutout of the season and take the lead in that category as well.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 3-6-2021 - Ed Nigro
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-6-21

This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Ray Nickerson of Snow White.  With his team needing a win to keep alive in the playoff chase, Ray brought his A-game to carry his team on his back, scoring 1-goal and assisting on the game’s first two goals, as he factored in on three of the four goals his team scored.  Plus, those two assists were legitimate and not phantom assists.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-6-21
This week’s Five Guys winner goes to George Medeiros of Jake-O-Lanterns.  George may not be showing up every week on the score sheet, especially with goals, but what he brings every shift of every week is hustle, relentless fore-checking and back-checking.  George’s consistent effort is what drives his team during their turnaround season.  It was George’s heads up assist that set up the game’s first goal.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 2-27-2021 - Jim Clarke
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-27-21

This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Nick Doherty of Jake-O-Lanterns.  Nick had an impressive game, as he factored into all the goals that his team scored, with 2-goals and 2-assists.  Nick’s breakaway speed was on full display as he was off to the races on his two goals.  His 4-point production put him back into contention in the leading scorer’s race.  Nick, that third goal that Matty stole from you, was the law of karma circling back to you as they gave you credit for Matty’s first goal back on November 21.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-27-21

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Sean Roach of Shockwave.  Sean, who has had an up and down season, brought his A-game when it mattered, stopping all 28 shots he faced in recording his first shutout of the season, and helping his team put some distance between themselves and the team chasing them for that final playoff spot.   In his last two games, Sean has been a difference maker for his team, as they make a late season climb up the standings.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 2-20-2021 - Dave Wilson
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-20-21

This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Rich Pelletier of Shockwave.  In a standout all-around performance, Rich had a statement game, factoring in on all four goals scored in the third period by his team, leading his team back from a two goal deficit and scoring 2-goals in twenty seconds (one short-handed, the other on a power play).  Welcome back to the offense Rich, you have been missed.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-20-21

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Dand Broderick of Shockwave.  The Old Man still has it, playing lots of minutes, controlling the defensive zone and quarterbacking his team's defense with a key third period assist in a third period 4-goal comeback that seperated his team in the standings from the team chasing them for that final playoff spot.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 2-13-2021 - Ron Aquino
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-13-21

This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Pic of Jake-O-Lanterns.  Pic's efforts early in his game left no doubt of the outcome.  His 1-goal and 1-assist in the first five minutes led the offense, and his other assist late in the game capped off a standout effort.  Pic has been giving it all the last three weeks trying to set up the Former Great One for that historic career goal; instead he decided to focus on his own stats for one game.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-13-21

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Alex Leone of Olive Pits.  Usually, Alex goes unnoticed playing defense behind the Portuguese dynamic duo of Dave and Elder.  But for this game, it was Alex who stood out in playing some major minutes, helping to preserve the shutout for his goalie, while getting involved in the offense setting up
2-goals, with an all-around solid performance against the league's top team.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 2-6-2021 - Alex Leone
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER(s) OF THE WEEK 2-6-21

This week's Dunkin Donuts co-winner goes to Jake Deehan of Jake-O-Lanterns.  Jake was lights out in his game, stopping all 27 shots he faced, including a key breakaway save in the third period, in recording his first shutout of the season.  Jake made his team's only goal scored hold up and move himself into second place in the goalie leader's race.  Well done Jake and well deserved!

This week's Dunkin Donuts co-winner goes to Dave Giusti of Olive Pits.  To say that Dave stood on his head in his game is an understatement.  Dave stopped every shot faced except one while getting a workout in facing 41 shots.  Dave single-handedly did everything he could to keep his team in this game, making some timely acrobatic saves.  Dave's performance was up there in highlights for this season.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-6-21

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Gino Tammaro of Jake-O-Lanterns.  Gino played his best game this season and made his late second period goal count in the process, holding up as the eventual game winner for his team.  Gino complimented his breakaway speed with a shoot first mentality, taking the shot when given instead of passing up the scoring opportunity.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 1-30-2021 - Dan Broderick
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-30-21

This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Gary Goodwin of Snow White.  Two weeks after switching from defense to forward, continues to pay dividends in a big way as Gary extended his goal scoring streak to two games, scoring a hat trick.  Gary "Sniper Hands" was the offense and impact player this week, scoring three out of the four goals for his team.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-30-21

This week's Five Guys winner goes to John Carey of Shockwave.  With his team struggling to find wins, and the defense revamped again, John played solid defense and joined the offense at times trying to generate scoring chances.  His positioning and limiting the opposition's shot attempts were on display in this game, helping his team put an end to thier four-game losing streak.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 1-23-2021 - Shawn Mulcahy
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-23-21

This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Nick Romano of Snow White.  Missing in action for most of the games on the score sheets this season, Nick broke out in a big way, scoring 2-goals and adding 1-assist, factoring in on three of the four goals his team scored, to power his team offensively and put an end to their five game losing streak.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-23-21

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Gary Goodwin of Snow White. Snow White needed something to change this season. They moved Gary from defense to offense and that was the spark they needed, with his consistent hustle and contribution on the score sheet. Gary made his presence felt in his game with a great backhand shoot top corner to start the game off with a 1-0 lead.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 1-16-2021 - Tony Bono
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-16-21

This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Ray Dow of Drama Queens.  How much did the former defenseman turned forward make an impact in his game?  All Ray did was factor in on all four goals his team scored, with 2-goals and 2-assists.  In the process, Ray extended his overall lead in the leading scorer's race.  Halfway through the season, Ray is chasing league history trying to become the first defensman to ever win the leading scorer title.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-16-21

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Tony Bono of Drama Queens.  When work prevents Tony from playing on a regular basis, when he can play, he seamlessly fits right in, usually on defense.  Once again Tony had a solid game on defense, controlling his defensive zone, keeping shots away from his goalie, and making smart breakout passes.

DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER(s) OF THE WEEK 1-9-21

This week's Dunkin Donuts co-winner goes to Todd Bryson of Jake-O-Lanterns.  After missing his team's first four games, Todd has made his return presence felt in a big way.  His latest effort had him impact three straight goals for his team, scoring the tying goal, set up the go-ahead power play goal in the second period on a sweet pass, then set up another insurance goal.

This week's Dunkin Donuts co-winner goes to Elder Lopes of Olive Pits.  And the defense shall lead them, and it sure did in a big way in a statement game.  Elder led his team in scoring with two power play goals and also set up another goal, while playing big minutes on defense and limiting the opponents scoring chances.  For one game, Elder was THE Portguese Power of the Over-30 league!

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-9-21

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Mike Luise of Olive Pits.  Overshadowed by his defense grabbing all the spotlight, Mike flew under the radar in his game, scoring a goal (the game winner) and set up two others to lead the offense.  Ironically, after breaking his stick, Mike borrowed one from an opposing player to not just turn that stick into magic, but use it like a dagger to stick it into the hearts of the opposition.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 1-2-2021 - Carlos Machado
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-2-21

This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Cooch of Drama Queens.  After returning back from opting out, Cooch, aka the faceoff Crab Walker, played his best game so far, as his natural hat trick broke open a tied game late in the second period and extended the lead early in the third period.  Cooch's second period short-handed goal got it all started and was the key goal in this game.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-2-21

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Big Mike Surette of Drama Queens.  Mike played a solid all-around defensive game in limiting any opponents scoring chances and as a bonus, big Mike got involved in the offense, scoring 2-goals off his patented snap shot from the left point.  Mike' scoring now puts three Drama Queens players at the top of the leading defensemen scoring race.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-26-20
This week's Five Guys winner goes to Ron Aquino of Olive Pits.  After going four games without a goal, Ron finally broke through with his first goal of the season that helped spark a four-goal offensive outburst by his team in a five-minute stretch in the first period.  Ron almost scored another goal as he played a solid all-around game in throwing 5-shots on net (his best prodcution so far this season).

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 12-19-2020 Bob Snyder
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-19-20

This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Tony Medeiros of Shockwave.  Shockwave received an early and unexpected Christmas gift when the former Portuguese Power showed up and simply took control of the spotlight and the game.  Tony scored 4-goals and added an assist with an impressive display fo shooting, scoring his team's first three goals.  In the process, the Portuguese Power leapfrogged multiple players into second place overall in the leading scoer's race.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-19-20

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Bob Snyder of Drama Queens. Bob played some solid defense, keeping opposing players to the perimeter, while getting involved in the offense by setting up a big insurance goal in this game.  His stay-at-home style of play made sure that the opposing players were limited to a one and done scoring opportunity.  Instead of hearing "where are the new boys," you could hear "who's that old guy on defense looking like a youngster?"

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 12-12-2020 Don Maccini
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-12-20

This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Matt Farrell of Snow White.  With his team down by four goals five minutes into the first period, Matt took it upon himself to get his team back into this game and not have them give up.  Matt led by example, scoring a hat trick while taking 11 shots on net.  The early deficit was too much to overcome, but Matt's leadership was a reminder to ALWAYS stay in the game no matter the score!

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-12-20

This week's Five Guys winner goes to Dave Wilson of Shockwave.  After a thirteen hiatus from last playing in the league, since his return Dave looks like he hasn't missed any time off.  His running game and determined fore checking game were on full display resulting in assisting on the game's first goal only forty seconds into the game.  Dave may be undersized but he always plays big when he is on the rink.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 12-5-2020 Pat Pirone
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-5-20
This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Scott Rosato of Snow White.  If you had asked Scott prior to this game if he was playig up to personal standards, his answer would have been a resounding no.  That all changed as Scott came to play and had an impact game, stopping 26 out of 27 shots faced, including all 8 faced in the third period, 4 of which were from breakaways or in close chances directly off faceoffs.  Literally, Scott stole this game for his team!

FIVE GUYS co-PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-5-20
This week's Five Guys co-winner goes to rookie Pedro Fontes of Snow White.  With his team playing short-handed, struggling on offense, and leaning too much on their goalie, Pedro took it upon himself to change things.  Pedro scored a huge tying goal with twelve seconds to play in the second period, then followed that momentum shift by setting up the game winning goal early in the third period for his team.  And a rookie shall lead them!

FIVE GUYS co-PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-5-20
This week's Five Guys co-winner goes to Elder Lopes of Olive Pits.  Elder was the leader on defense for his team, giving Dave Costa a break, as he scored the game winning goal in overtime on a rocket of a shot, playing the entire game on defense not taking a break, and controlling the play in his zone.  A solid all-around performance by Elder.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 11-28-2020 Mike Luise
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-28-20
This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Dave Parquette of Olive Pits.  With his team playing short-handed both on offense and defense, Dave played a key role in his team's offense, scoring 2-goals (his team's first and last goals) and setting up two others late in the second period.  Dave's playmaking ability and ball control were on full display throughout this game and went a long way to his team finally getting a point in the standings.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-28-20
This week's Five Guys winner goes to Steve Medeiros of Jake-O-Lanterns.  With his team needing a defenseman to move upfront, Steve answered the call in a big way.  Two minutes into the game, Steve the goal scorer set the tempo for his team with his first goal, then scored a key tying goal late in the second period to re-spark his team.  Steve just missed a golden scoring chance late in overtime for a hat trick.  Throughout the game, Steve's relentless forechecking was causing pressure on the opponents defense.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 11-21-2020 John Kelleher
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-21-20

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-21-20
This week's Five Guys winner goes to Steve Silveira of Jake-O-Lanterns.  In a solid win that boosted team confidence, Steve stepped up big time by containing the opponents key scoring threats, making smart short breakout passes out of the defensive zone, and controlled the area around the net.  After a 15-year hiatus away from the league, it looks like Steve is settling back into his role as a stabilizer and difference maker on defense.

A.A.R.P. Old timer award 11-14-2020 Rob Valley
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-14-20
This week's Dunkin Donuts winner goes to Jake Brum of Drama Queens.  Coming into the Over-30 league as a relative unknown player, and more importantly as a goalie, Jake let his play do the talking for him.  Posting the season's first shutout, stopping all 25 shots he faced, the rookie left no doubt he will be one of the top goalies in the league.  His squaring up to the shots along with his fluid easy movement side to side were on full display.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-14-20
This week's Five Guys winner goes to Shawn Mulcahy of Snow White.  Even though he didn't show up on the scoresheet, Shawn played a solid all-around game.  Making some heads up plays, keeping the ball in at the point, and disrupting his fair share of shots, Shawn did a lot of the little things that didn't get noticed but contributed to a steady defensive effort and performance.
