Dave Giusti
The winner of the weekly Stadler and Waldorf Play of the Week award is Dave Giusti of Omerta.
In the first period of a scoreless game, with the opponent playing their best game of the season and generating scoring opportunities, Dave came up big on a back-to-back sequence.
First, he split to make a left toe save on a point-blank shot, then with a wide-open net, he somehow managed to get somewhat up in position, seconds later to make an amazing save, keeping this a scoreless game.
Dave did his best to prevent the other team from scoring until his teammates started to generate their own scoring chances, only to run into another hot goalie on the other team.
Dave finally redeemed himself by not subjecting himself to winning that gaffe of the week award.

George Medeiros
The winner of the weekly Stadler and Waldorf Play of the Week award is George Medeiros of Omerta.
The energizer bunny of the Over-30 league did it again.
He just keeps going and going and going, never giving up (ON EVERY SHIFT).
Late in the third period of a close one goal game with a chance to move his team up the standings, George took the ball straight ahead into a triangle of players somehow maintaining possession of the ball in the process.
The defensive players tried taking the ball away from George but were unsuccessful as George drawing both defensemen on him freed up Pedro Fontes on the left wing, and the ball somehow went from George to Pedro for the key insurance goal.

Tony Fosco
The winner of the weekly Stadler and Waldorf Play of the Week award is Tony Fosco of Top Secret.
With his team leading by a goal in a close game against the first-place team, Tony stepped up and made a play that changed the outcome of this game.
Behind the net, Tony battled the defenseman for possession of the ball. As he kept battling coming around the net, Tony’s original stuff attempt was saved. Not giving up and determined to get off a shot, Tony got inside position moving to the front of the net, made contact with the defenseman causing both to fall on the rink, where Tony got his own rebound shot while stretched out on the rink and powered that into the net past the goalie.

Nick Romano
The winner of the weekly Stadler and Waldorf Play of the Week award is Nick Romano of Omerta.
In a scoreless tight checking game, Nick made a heads up read of the play developing in front of him.
Positioning himself inside the defenseman covering him at the side of the crease, Nick took a step out to receive the pass from his team mates, and with the defenseman all over him causing Nick to fall down, he chipped a sniper’s shot top corner past the surprised goalie while lying on the rink.
It was a momentum changing play by a veteran player.

Tony Fosco
The winner of the weekly Stadler and Waldorf Play of the Week award is Tony Fosco of Top Secret.
With his team down a goal, the goalie pulled, and thirty seconds left in the game, Tony found himself in a foot race with an opposing player as the ball rolled towards the open net.
As both players dived for the ball, Tony’s hustle resulted in him beating the other player to the ball to knock it wide of the net, as Tony crashed hard into the post, knocking the net off.
Tony’s play in sacrificing his body for the team and preventing a goal, epitomized what an unselfish play is, and his team mates noticed the effort.

With his team down three goals late in the game, George made a goal scoring highlight play that was pure hustle.
As the shot came in from the point and saved by the goalie, George hustled his way from the slot to the rebound at the side of the net. As the defenseman took him down, George somehow managed to get his shot off and roof it past the goalie’s stacked pads.
Just another example of how George plays hard every shift and never gives up on the ball.

Sometimes a save is just a save. Other times, a save is timely and changes the momentum.
With his team holding a three-goal lead late in the third period and sitting back, Sean faced a two-on-none scoring chance in close by the other team. He stopped the initial shot then somehow recovered to make a second save, taking away a sure goal into an open net.
