The Over-30 League has always been an “Invitation Only” hockey league, since its inception in 1992
Players are invited (and vouched for) based on a player’s skill level, commitment and equally as importantly, their character. Those players who fail to meet the leagues’ expectations, weekly commitments, financial obligations and good characteristics will be subject to immediate removal from the league and not be eligible for future drafts.

Attendance & Dues
The Over-30 League is now over 30-years old, and is probably one of the longest continuous hockey leagues in the country. The reason behind this is the commitment by the league creator Bill Abcunas and the commitment by our long-serving veterans who continue to play year after year.
There has never been an official attendance policy with the league regarding a “minimum” number of games a player must play during the regular season. But we do monitor excessive absence of players as “The Draft” is based on a player’s perceived contribution to the team.
The Over-30 League has always been an “invitation only” league since its inception in 1992. The league is typically more expensive than other house leagues, but the focus on the players’ experience within the league has always been a priority for the League Director and the Board of Directors.
The Over-30 experience comes with Balanced Competition, All-time Career Stats, Weekly Awards, a weekly Newsletter and much more to aid in the safety of its players and the camaraderie that is associated with being on a hockey team, that is part of such a long historical and documented street hockey league.
We ask two simple tasks when you are “invited” to join the Over-30 League:
1) Commit yourself weekly to playing in the league, and commit yourself to your teammates and play up to your draft expectations
2) Commit yourself financially and make sure all your dues are paid on (or prior to) the deadlines. We don’t like chasing players for dues.
Players that have an excessive number of missing games could be reevaluated and potentially removed from future drafts based on lack of commitment to the league, and their teammates.
This does not include long term IR as the league will handle those issues separately.

Roster Freezing Policy
The current 6-teams rosters play a total of 15-games (per season) not including the playoffs. The season is unofficially comprised of 3-segments (or thirds) …Weeks 1-5, Weeks 6-10, and Weeks 11-15.
During the Spring 2025 season, it was decided that the usage of “fill-in” players would be allowed during the regular season from Weeks #1 through Week #10. During that duration each team will play each other twice, and based on weekly attendance the use of “fill-in” players will be allowed.
Starting on Week #11 for the final meeting between all (6) teams … The usage of “fill-in” players will cease as teams will play their final matchups using only their rostered players. The intent is to not give an advantage in the final leg of the standings race.
A “fill-in” player is assigned by the League Director only and based on a team’s need for that week. A “fill in” player is chosen by the League Director based on the team’s comparable needs, not necessarily the individual players.
“Fill-in” players will primarily be utilized from the waiting list so that the League Director can use the opportunity to see what skill levels the player has to offer to the league.
All team rosters will freeze after Week #10. Teams will play with the rosters they have, and no “fill-in” players will be allowed to play during the regular season (unless, with very limited exceptions ~ determined by the League Director) if a team is “drastically understaffed”.
For example, if a team only has 6-players for their game, the “fill-in” player exemption will be granted to their team, for that game only. A determining consideration of which “fill-in” player is utilized is that they must be "comparable" skill-wise to those missing roster player(s). If a team has 7-rostered players or more, they will play with what they have.
For the playoffs, there will be no fill-in roster exemptions granted. Teams will play with what they have.
