Voting Day
Look for the “2024-2025 Mylec Player of the Year” ballots to circulate the rink this weekend. If a polling attendant doesn’t approach you with a ballot … you can visit the registration table to cast your vote. (1) ballot per player – 3 picks required to validate the ballot.
Make sure you make (3) picks and sign you name to the ballot … undocumented voters will not have their ballots counted. This is a free and fair election as we let your voices be heard and your input counts. Let’s have a “MEGA” movement and “Make Elections Great Again”

New Friends
Barney & Friends captain Angelo De Luca claimed Anthony Petrillo off waivers as he is now an official “Friend” and full-time rostered player throughout the remainder of the season (and playoffs).
Originally Angelo offered a “5-way trade” to obtain Cam Long, but the “5-way” trade was just all (5) captains saying “No way” to pairing up Cam with Mike Duggan as a Joe Carlton replacement.
Rob Green has also been added to the Barney & Friends roster as a “defensive insurance policy” for Derek Donegan and Paul Firicano who are both dealing with nagging lower body injuries.
Rob will be a “healthy scratch” when all (11) “Friends” show up.

Final Countdown
Ladies, Gentleman … and Golfers … It’s winding down, this weekend (and next) to see Tony and reserve your Over-30 foursome.
The exclusive Over-30 Players window closes on March 15th. After that Tony will begin filling the empty spots with family and friends who are already chomping at the bit to get in the tournament.
It will fill very rapidly … and it’s always a great tournament. We also look to make the events special and have some great sponsors like Tito’s Vodka, Over-30 Team Baskets, Raffles and Baskets by Volunteers and Tony’s host of generous sponsors.
There will be Food, Drinks, Golf, Raffles and Prizes awarded…. Sign up TODAY!!

Spring Payment
The snow is melting and revealing the soon to be “green” grass … which reminds Bill Abcunas that he likes the color “green” and more importantly he likes all the dues to be paid before March 15th so he can focus on the road to the playoffs and not chasing balances.
Players with an open balance on May 22nd will not be allowed on the rink until their balance is paid in full.
Spring Forward
Don’t forget to “Spring Forward” this weekend after your games. Yes, you’ll lose an hour of sleep…, but you’ll gain an extra “spring” in your step, and just in time for the final push of the “2025 Spring Scoring Challenge”.
We have the dedicated page under the weekly updates… or you can click on the link below and be redirected to see what you need to achieve and be eligible for the drawing;

Hammertime Traffic Report
Passing Lane?
(From Saugus) Johnathan “Caff” Cafarella zipped down Route 1 from the penalty box to the goal crease in “21-seconds” to score the GWG in overtime. Despite the traffic in front of Dominions goaltender Sean Roach … Patrick Spencer sent a ball through the “passing lane” right on “Caff’s” stick for his second goal of the season and their first win against the defending champions.
Late or Early?
(From Somerville) Hammertime defenseman Elder Lopes was either stuck in traffic last week and showed up a period and a half late for his 4:30 game… or he took the express lane and was wicked early for the 5:30 game.
Thankfully when Elder did show up (late!) … he was full of energy as both teams had already played for 15-minutes. The leagues #1 Portuguese Defenseman (debate it) immediately jumped up into a 3-on-1 and blasted a shot the rang off the post.
Down 2-0 … Elders energy helped fuel the 4-2 win as he assisted on (2) of the (4) unanswered goals by Hammertime for their second weekend win.

12-ounce Physical Therapy
Jason Carrien’s doctor provided the Over-30 League’s medical staff with an update on his IR Status.
Doctor “Winter-off”, told the staff that Jay is cleared to play indoor golf and to do several 12-ounce curls to strengthen his thumb ligaments.
Last week the “unofficial” players union rep was seen working out and following doctor’s orders with his 12-ounce physical therapy curls. There was just one problem with Jay’s appearance at Hockeytown.
No, it wasn’t the fact he was consuming adult beverages without a disguise… it was Jason didn’t respect the streak and jinxed his team with a 4-2 loss to Hammertime, a team that Mike O’Neill has previously owned but only managed 1-goal, with the “team jinx” in the stands.

Investigating Losses
I-Team30 Investigators revealed that when Azores Express scores… they win! But, when they score 2-goals or less, they lose … thanks to basic math and Jake Deehan’s 3.22 GAA.
On Saturday the train conductor and captain Dave Costa was the sole rostered defenseman in their 9-2 thumping on Barney & Friends. During their 9-goal reckoning, Dave had 4-assists and we think he played all 30-minutes.
On Sunday the Azores Express just ran out of steam and lost their top seed in the standings as they only managed to score (1) goal by their leader Dave.
Pedro Fontes used up all his goals scoring on Saturday with 5-goals and Gino Tammaro only managed 1-shot on Sunday.
Meanwhile, captain Dave scored a “Portuguese Hat Trick” when he scored the lone goal of his game, along with “coughing one up” to Rich Pelletier…. And then he sits for 2-minutes with (2) Delay of Game penalties, the second is a typo on the game sheet.

BOLO Alert
Saugus Police put a BOLO alert for goaltender Dale McIssac after complaints poured into the station about Dale “robbing them” and “stealing” two games over the weekend.
Eyewitness Donny Maccini complained about Dale letting up 4-goals on Saturday, but that could have easily been 8-goals if not for the sprawling saves and flashing his glove, to “rob” opponents of their scoring chances.
Dale faces “Larceny by a Goaltender” charges and should be considered “Armed and Dangerous” when he leaves the blue paint of his crease.

Players Stock Market Report
The after-hours weekend stock report had some big gains and losses last weekend
Weekend Gains:
Hammertime (HT10) was the only team to win both games to climb into 4th place.
Pedro Fontes (PF17) had a 5-goal performance on Saturday and was the biggest stock move over the weekend.
Rob Sheridan (RS21) had 3-goals & 2-assists… he could have had 4-goals including a hat trick tip in goal (Shot by Patrick Spencer - tipped by Rob and confirmed by goaltender A J Larabee) but was credited to Pat.
Patrick Spencer (PS92) had a 6-point weekend (3-goals & 3-assists)
Matty Iannello (MI77) tripled his goal production on the season to 3-goals
Rich Pelletier (RP2) continued his scoring touch with 3-goals and (9) in 4-games.
Weekend Losses
M*A*S*H (M*02) dropped both games over the weekend (only team to do so)
Mike Duggan (MD91) 1 measly assist and a self-imposed 1-day suspension
Dave Norton (DN65) only records 2-assists
Jim Barber (JB10) continues his worst season ever with ZERO points
Scotty Rosato (SR33) has a “Black Saturday” market crash giving up 9-goals before he was able to bounce back on Sunday with an improved 2-goal performance.
Mike O’Neill (MO55) drops in value after posting 2-goals all weekend

Robb Report
The Rob Sheridan “RPM” Chart is on the move (again) edging up to #6 on the meter after a weekend fluctuation with the needle.
|
Rob’s needle hit the #7 over the weekend with his dominating performances in both games to help Hammertime be the only team to go 2-0 over the weekend.
But his critics insisted Rob be penalized 1-point for the slashing and roughing penalties during his 2-trips to the penalty box.

Wednesday’s Child
With youth, speed, skill and a set of undocumented stats for the Over-30 League…, Cam Long is looking to be adopted by a permanent team next season.
In and out of foster teams since he made his move to New England, M*A*S*H captain Jamie Kehoe has been Cam’s primary caretaker and once again he will open his team’s roster to accept him on to the bench this weekend.
If you think you can provide a winning chemistry team for Cam in 2025-2026 then we invite all (6) captains to fill out the adoption papers and make your pitch for Cam and list all the reasons you deserve him for next season.

Final Thoughts
We tried something new… a new concept… was it a swing and a miss?
If so…, then remember this;
