COVID-19 List
With COVID -19 numbers spiking again players are showing up on the league new COVID-19 list.
Like other major sports teams players on the COVID-19 list have violated their team’s COVID-19 protocol and will not be allowed to play for their team that week. They will remain on their respective rosters and will not be placed on waivers.
Two players appeared on the list last week. We are not publicly announcing player names due to the 1996 HIPPA Act.., so like the Governor of Massachusetts says; just assume if someone is not playing that week they have the Corona.., so Mask-Up on the draws.
StateFarm Jake’s
Despite Jake Deehan and Jake Brum’s back-to-back losses they remain back-to-back leaders in the leading goalie race.
Jake Deehan played a lot better during his 2-1 loss and Jake Brum proved he’s not a machine he actually can be beaten.., although it might take a little OT to “get ‘er done”.
Is the Jake and Jake show just a short-lived anomaly to this early season.., or could this be a battle to prove who is the better “Jake from StateFarm” between the pipes.., just like in reality when the old white Jake (with khakis) got replaced by the new black Jake.
Indefinite IR
Showing up on the league’s indefinite IR report is Snow White’s Jason Carrien who’s rumored to be out until 2021 with a lower body injury.
When asked about losing his top defenseman, Captain John Kelleher said “the bench area is a lot quieter without Jay I can actually hear myself think and strategize a game plan”
Then we asked rookie Pedro Fontes for his comments about being down a defenseman and he said; “Who’s Jay again.., is he the tall lanky loud dude or the little stalky fella who thinks he’s LeBron James with his pre-game headphones.., I didn’t see either of them last week?”
New Head-to-Head
Jon Picard walked through the door for Matty Iannello and the rest of the Jake-O-Lanterns and so far he’s 1-1-1 with 1-Goal, 1-Assist and 10-Shots (debatable).., which ties him for points with Colleen O’Connell in the Head-to-Head race.
It was an easier match-up for Colleen when she went Head-to-Head against the “assist begger” himself Mike Naczas.
With Jay Carrien out for Snow White.., Colleen is sure to get more playing minutes and chances to earn more points in her impossible match-up.
Moving on Up
Jon Picard who replaced aging defenseman Mike Naczas after negotiations for a contract extension went sour.., rumors are already swirling that instead of strengthening the defense as the move was intended to do... Jon (just 3-games in) is sniffing around the offense zone as he was spotted at center taking draws while Matty moved over to the right wing.
If Matty does exercise his executive powers and moves Jon up front with him.., then Jake Deehan could have a civil suit against the league for a “bait and switch scam” perpetrated by high ranking league officials.
Seconds Matter
Forget Jon Picard’s playing ability (or lack of this early season).., we want to know more about his TimeKeeping resume?
A graduate of the “Bill Abcunas Time Clock Guesstimating”.., Pic wants to ensure the league that (like his mentor Bill) he “holds the clock” after he shaves off an undetermined amount of seconds after a whistle.
When Ray Dow needs to yell “Wake Up!!” for your clock mismanagement.., then you know you’re screwing up.
#SecondsMatter
Head Start
When you’re already one of the fastest guys in the league.., you don’t need to get a head start on an offensive rush.
Speedy right winger Gino Tammaro has now become infamous for his offside calls.., and his Captain Matty Iannello was seen giving him an earful after Gino negated a potential 3-on-2 when he jumped early… and it wasn’t his first offense.
Fellow Pisano Rick Cassano submitted some footage of him and Gino racing on the streets of East Boston and you can clearly see that Gino was jumping the gun back then.
