| Scotty gave it his all |

Don't take it from me, as the players were overheard saying the same thing "this was a lot of fun and the best Jamboree the Over-30 League has hosted." What started off as a focus of six teams contending for the Players Championship, ended up with all the focus on 1 player that was justly deserved, based on his performance on Sunday. This player single-handedly put the team on his back and carried them in the playoffs taking them almost all the way to the championship.
Scott Rosato was the story of the Players Jamboree! Scott became the first-ever goalie in the Jamboree to win the Jamboree MVP award. The highest honor the Jamboree Committee could present him with.
His Sunday performance was so spectacular and stood out from any other player in the Jamboree, that it brough back memories of long ago of another Over-30 legendary goalie in Denny Beaupre. Yes, Scott was that good. He was a puck magnet, stopping literally every shot he faced during the playoffs. All three of his playoff games went into shootouts. Just these stats alone of facing 56 total shots over three games and stopping 54, only allowing 2 goals supports just how dominant Scott was.
Other highlights of the Jamboree included the following:
- Pitmaster Dave Giusti barbequeing and serving up ribs for all the players.
- Tim Burke's generous Tito's sponsorship of "etched" glass1 liter bottles and Tito's shirts to the Players of the Game; Tito's dispensers for the MVP, MVD and MVG.
- Tony Medeiro's raffle coordination and selling of raffle tickets raising over $500 that will be included in the "Giving Back to the Players" theme all of the 2024-25 seasons. Great job Tony!
- Paul White and Dave Giusti both becoming back-to-back champions with the Spring Over-30 championship and now the Players Jamboree.
- Naz winning the inagural Jamboree Committee Player award for his overall play and production for the entire Jamboree that stood out. We won't mention anything about his failed imitation of the Youngblood move on a penalty shot!
- To all the defensemen who played ironman hockey, playing most shifts, if not the entire game, every game, due to each team only having two subs on their benches. Special acknowledgement to three of the four players on defense in their 60's and 50's (Paul White, Naz and John Hines) who played in the Finals.

The Players Jamboree
Spring 2024 Jamboree playing format and rules
- Each team will consist of a total of 7-players (3-forwards, 3-defensemen, 1-goalie).
- Jamboree playing format will be 4-on-4.
- Each team is guaranteed 3 round-robin games.
- NEW - All 6 teams after the qualifying games will move on to the playoffs.
- Each game will consist of one 20-minute (running-time) period with the last 1 minute consisting of stop time.
- No timeouts.
- All Over-30 league rules will be in effect. Only exception is the entire perimeter netting around the rink is in play; if the ball is shot into the netting, no delay of game penalty will be called.
All penalties will result in penalty shots. The opposing player directly impacted by the penalty call shall be designated to take the penalty. If the penalty results in a “non-direct” infraction on another player (delay of game, unsportsmanlike conduct, misconduct, etc.), the opposing team captain can designate any player on the rink to take the penalty shot.
All penalty shots shall result in stop time.
If the same player receives 3 penalties in the same game, said player will be removed from the game.
If teams both receive matching penalties, each team will play 3-on-3 for a minute and a half. Said penalized players will serve this time in their respective penalty box.
All round robin games that end in ties after 20 minutes shall remain a tie. No overtime will be played.
Team standings will be determined by the following:
- Wins = 10 points
- Ties = 5 points
- Loss = 0 points
- NEW - Goal Differential (Team wins 4-2; add 2 points to their total)
Team tied in the standings will be determined by the following tie breakers:
- Most points
- Most wins
- Fewest losses
- Head-to-head records
- Fewest goals against total
- Most goals for total
- Head-to-head goals against
- Head-to-head goals for
Playoff games will feature the following playing format:
- 1st place team receives a first-round playoff bye
- 2nd place team receives a first-round playoff bye
- 3rd place team playing the 6th place team
- 4th place team playing the 5th place team
- 1st place team plays TBD based on seed
- 2nd place team plays TBD based on seed
- The two winning playoff semifinal teams will play in the Finals.
Playoff games that end in a tie after 20 minutes will move to alternating penalty shots by each team. The first team to score wins, as long as the other team has been given an equal chance to score (if your team has taken a penalty shot and missed and the other team follows and scores on their penalty shot, the game is over).
- The same player cannot keep taking the penalty shot

GOAL DIFFERENTIAL POINTS (Team wins 4-2, receives 2 extra points)
IF 2 TEAMS ARE STILL TIED BY POINTS AFTER THE THREE PRELIMINARY ROUND-ROBIN GAMES, THE FOLLOWING TIE-BREAKING FACTORS WILL BE USED, TO BREAK THIS TIE, AND DETERMINE WHICH TEAM WILL ADVANCE TO THE PLAYOFF ROUND:
1) MOST WINS
2) FEWEST LOSSES
3) HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD
4) FEWEST GOALS AGAINST TOTAL
5) MOST GOALS FOR TOTAL
6) HEAD-TO-HEAD GOALS AGAINST
