The Vig
Tony Bono has been playing in the league for 49-seasons and like an old school Italian he knows how to pay respect.
Last week Tony won $20 on a scratch ticket and like a true Italian he offered a $5 vig to the leagues underboss Mike Naczas.
Naz told him “Keep your money.., you won it” and after a little arguing Tony put the $5 back in his pocket.
But as soon as Tony walked away the ALD turned and said.., “Fungula!! What does the stugats think he’s doing?”
Tony you can’t openly hand cash to a league official.., next time put that shit in a brown paper bag and/or palm it to him.
Side Note: Dave Giusti is still the largest winner from a scratch ticket with $50.., and we’re not sure if Dave paid the “taxes” on that yet?
Winning Way?
Did Loose Cannons Captain John Kelleher tell Donny Maccini that it was a big game and he needs to be on time.., or did he lie about the game time thus making Donny was an hour early?
Last week was the first time we saw Donny show up before warmups was over.
Everything is sweeter when you’re 4-0-1 and winning and quite honestly the implosion we were predicting for this team (last summer).., has never materialized as they have been the hot team for weeks now.
We asked Captain Kelleher for a quote on the Loose Cannon’s winning ways and he simply said.., “We’re on to the Gold Miners”
Slow Motion
Johnny Mastrocola gets the slow motion goal of the week for his ugly and soft rolling goal off his second attempt.
After screwing up his first attempt… his second attempt “followed the yellow brick road slowly to uglyville” for the only Top Secret goal of the game.
Thankfully his brother wasn’t there to see him disgrace the family name.
New Move
We’re all familiar with the term “Punk Move”
For those of you who don’t.., the “Punk Move” is reserved for those players who opt to score an open net in the last waning seconds of an already decided victory. Recent inductees into the “Punk Move Club” include: Jim Barber, Manny Nunes, and Gino Tammaro.
But Nick Doherty started a whole new movement and club… with seconds counting down in a pending 3-1 victory, Nick found himself all alone standing next to an empty net with 2-goals already and seconds ticking down until the 3rd period buzzer.
What to do… what to do… Dump it in the corner and end the game with dignity.., or fight the temptation to shoot it in for the hat trick?
From what we hear Nick had an accomplice and potential alibi in earning him the new “Dick Move” of the season. While stickhandling and staring at the open net Mike Naczas and Nick colluded on a plan to shoot it at the very last second.., Mike would count down the seconds and Nick would shoot after the (3…2…1).
There was only one problem with their plan… Naz reenacted the 2010 Dick Clark countdown…
