| Week #15
Jim Barber
The winner of the AARP award is Jim Barber of ReUnited.
We are not sure if this was by default or due to other players not standing out.
In a statement game, knocking off the first-place team and gaining momentum going into the playoffs, Jim scored a big goal with a minute to play in the second period, to break a tie game.
Jim’s goal would hold up until his team scored an insurance open net goal to seal the win.
Jim’s hustle was evident all game, as the entire team played their most complete game as a team all season, playing hard every shift and competing until the final buzzer.

John Howland
The winner of the AARP award is John Howland of Omerta.
After sitting out the previous night’s game for lower body maintenance, John returned and played one of his better games this season.
John played solid defense and controlled the ball in his own defensive zone while carrying the ball up on the rush.
His heads up play at the point with three minutes to play, led to the game winning goal out front, turning a close tie game into a three-goal lead for his team.

| Week #13
Mike Luise
The winner of the AARP award is Mike Luise of Gold Miners.
For an old man, Mike looked good out on the rink, actually keeping up with the youngsters and having an impact.
Mike’s playmaking was on display as he set up both of his team’s goals.
The highlight being on the first goal, as Mike made a veteran move behind the net, taking his time, moving from one side of the net to the other, buying time, to set up his open team mate for a bang bang goal.

| Week #12
Tony Fosco
The winner of the AARP award is Tony Fosco of Top Secret.
Tony played his best game all season, playing hard every shift.
Tony’s hustle and determination were on display all game long which resulted in a great individual effort and insurance goal with less than three minutes to play in a one goal game.
As the ball went behind the net, Tony battled the defenseman gaining inside position. As he kept battling coming around the net, Tony’s original stuff attempt was saved. With the defenseman on him like glue, Tony was taken down in front and his rebound shot while stretched out on the rink trickled into the net.

| Week #11
Bob Snyder
The winner of the AARP award is Bob Snyder of Last Call.
Bob recently came off IR, and didn’t miss a beat playing his usual under the radar solid defensive game.
Bob usually gets overlooked by the “big 3” defensemen on his team, but, this game, Bob stood out and made it a “big 4” defensive unit.
Whether it was playing instinctive positioning on the rink, or blocking a lot of shots, Bob’s effort went a long way in ensuring his team’s victory in a tough defensive battle.
If those scouts were watching, we are sure they took a lot of notes to pass on to Reg and the Chiefs.

| Week #10
Don Maccini
The winner of the AARP award is Don Maccini of Loose Cannons.
The defenseman turned forward has quietly had a productive season for his team.
Don continues to slip under the radar of being noticed on the rink. Maybe that has to do with his showing up consistently late with his game’s already in progress. Shockingly, it’s hard to believe considering his “hand me down” look of equipment that he wears.
Don’s 3-assists stood out along with his playmaking style during a key game for first place overall and had a big impact in the outcome.

Ray Nickerson
The winner of the AARP award is Ray Nickerson of ReUnited.
Ray is quietly having an impressive season on offense, as he is right near the leaders in the scorer’s race, and has looked rejuvenated being reunited with Matty Iannello.
Ray has been one of the leaders on offense for his team and has played a key role in turning his team’s season around.
One of the long-term veteran players of the league, Ray continues to find the back of the net from his office in the left face-off circle.

| Week #8
Carlos Machado
The winner of the AARP award is Carlos Machado of Top Secret.
Playing solid defense, and jumping up into the play to help generate scoring chances has always been a trademark of Carlos’ game.
With his team struggling to find its offense and trailing most of this game, Carlos jumped in to be the key impact player.
He set up a goal in the second period, then followed that up by setting up two more goals in the third period, bringing them back from certain defeat to earn a valuable point in the standings.

| Week #7
Matt Iannello
The winner of the AARP award is Matty Iannello of ReUnited.
A resurgent Great One is something to be feared, and that is exactly what is playing out this season.
Matty stepped up his game and had a big impact in putting an end to his team’s 6-game losing streak, scoring the game’s first goal, setting up their second one and setting up an insurance goal late in the third period.
How resurgent has Matty been? Right where he usually can be found, at or near the top of the leading scorers list.

| Week #6
Joe Shannon
The winner of the AARP award is Joe Shannon of Top Secret.
Joe Shannon is back! One year ago, Joe was not even close to being able to play Dekhockey. However, after losing substantial weight that took pressure off his legs, Joe regained his mobility and looks like the Joe Shannon of old.
Joe had a big impact on this game, scoring 2 slapshot goals from the point with deadly accuracy, and set up the game winning goal. Those slapshot goals were vintage Joe Shannon goals.
He may not be the fastest player on defense, but he makes up for it with his hockey IQ and ball control.

| Week #5
Mark Stickney
The winner of the AARP award is Mark Stickney of Top Secret.
With half his team missing, Mark played some major minutes up front, set up his team’s first goal, then used his rink awareness as time was ticking down to set up the game winning goal with only thirteen seconds left to seal the victory.

| Week #4
Dan Broderick
The winner of the AARP award is Dan Broderick of Last Call.
He may be the old man on defense but he still knows how to defend the “youngsters.” Experience, solid positioning, rink awareness can’t be taught, they have to be earned.
Dan’s consistency over the years is a tribute to him.

| Week #3
Doug Sedille
The winner of the AARP award is Doug Sedille of Top Secret.
Anticipation! After a 10-year hiatus away from the league and a one game warm up.
Doug displayed what we were all waiting for, his scoring touch, as he scored less than a minute into his game, then sparked a three-goal comeback win in the third period for his team.

|
| Week #2
Shawn Mulcahy
The winner of the AARP award is Shawn Mulcahy of Gold Miners.
Shawn played shutdown defense in limiting the opponent getting any prime scoring chances all game, while also setting up a goal in a rout.

|
| Week #1
Nick Romano
The first winner of the weekly AARP award is Nick Romano.
Nick looked like a youngster on the rink, scoring 2-goals and adding 1-assist.
The only thing missing in this performance according to Nick was the captain’s "C" on his shirt!
