DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-16-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Niko Vramis of Fool’s Gold. Niko aka “the Other Cooch” helped set up his team’s first goal of the game, then scored a big insurance goal at the end of the second period in helping his team pull out an overtime win. Niko played his best two-way game this season and heading into the playoffs could be a key player for his team (if he can keep quiet and stop complaining about missed calls) and keep his focus on making a difference on the scoreboard.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-16-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Ron Aquino of Team Cherry. Even though he will miss the playoffs, the “Flyin Hawaiian” finished out the season by scoring a key goal in the third period, initiating a comeback that fell just short in overtime. In his sophomore season, Ron broker out offensively by scoring 5-goals (including two game winners) while finishing in fourth place in his team’s scoring leaders.

DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-9-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Matty Iannello of Maybe One. In any big game it usually is your elite players who somehow will manage to step up and lead the way. Such was the case with Matty who made his impact felt in a must win game that determined the final playoff team, as he scored the game’s first 2-goals early and late in the second period of a scoreless game, while setting up the game’s third goal on the power play. It wasn’t just the scoring that stood out for Matty, it was his leadership behind the play doing all the subtle little things that made the difference that made this a unanimous choice.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-9-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to John Mastrocola of Maybe One. When his team needed guys to step up, John answered the call by scoring a big insurance power play goal early in the third period that essentially sealed the win as well as assisting on three goals, including the game’s first two goals. All game long John had his running legs going that had a big impact on pressuring the other team’s defense with a solid fore checking game. John picked the right game to have his best game of the season.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-2-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Ray Nickerson of Maybe One. In a must win game, Ray set up the key second goal for his team early in the second period, then scored an insurance goal in the third period to give his team some breathing room. The win moved Maybe One into a tie for the final playoff spot with a winner take all showdown game taking place next week. Unconfirmed reports had Ray complaining to the referees/timer of not getting credit for any phantom assists on his team’s other three goals.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 12-2-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Tony Mastrocola of Maybe One. After following the yellow brick road to the Land of Oz, consulting with the Wizard and his Board of Directors (the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and Toto) it has been determined that Tony deserved this award. Tony had his running legs going all game long as he hustled his way in setting up two of his team’s first three goals in helping them build a commanding lead in a must win game. After his game, even Glinda, the good witch of the North, and the wicked witch of the West nodded their approval of the "Munchkin" winning this award.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-25-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Walter Maslak of Trojan Horse. Walter has been on a role offensively lately as he scored 2-goals in his game and fourth in his last three games. In addition, Walter continues to jump start his team by scoring his team’s first goal in the first period in five of their ten games played this season. Walter’s goals moved him into fourth place overall in the leading scorers race and second overall with goals scored this season with nine.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-25-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Naz of Blues Brothers. After missing the first half of the season due to an upper body injury, Naz has settled in on defense for his team. The self-declared “shutdown defenseman” of the Over-30 league made a heads up play to set up his team’s first goal late in the first period and played shutdown defense thereafter in helping them win their game. For one game, Naz was able to put aside all those Over-30 hats he wears and be recognized as a top defenseman while on the rink.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-18-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Mike Surette of Trojan Horse. No “Big Mike” did not get called for another “Suretting” delay of game penalty. Instead, Mike showed off his scoring skills by scoring 2-goals and adding 1-assist in his game, proving that yes defensemen can score by the wrist shot not the big slap shot. It was Mike’s two goals that broke open a close game. On a side note, Mike was never given the opportunity to move up front with two minutes to play and no goalie in the other net……..SHAME on his captain for denying Mike his one and only chance to say he scored a hat trick in the Over-30 league.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-18-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Brian Capodilupo of Trojan Horse. Cappy once again played another solid defensive game, as he has done so consistently this season, as well as making an impact on offense. Cappy’s game tying goal halfway through the game, turned the momentum in his team’s favor in helping them win their third straight game. For Cappy, it was his third goal of the season moving him into sole possession of second place in the leading defensemen scorers.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-11-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Joe Carlton of Team Cherry. Playing more like Randy “Stumpy” Burridge this season, Joe got motivated and stepped up offensively, scoring 4 goals to lead his team’s offense in winning for the third time in their last four games, as they make a playoff push. Staying focused all game, Joe scored twice in the first period, once in the second and once in the third period.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-11-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Jim Barber of Trojan Horse. As we are still pinching ourselves to see if we are dreaming this, Jim surprised not only his opponents but also his team mates by scoring 2-goals and adding 1-assist, as his two goals scored in thirty seconds during the second period, turned a deficit into the lead for his team that they never relinquished. Maybe we should not be surprised as not writing a new Forum for 2 weeks seems to have freed up Jim’s focus onto goal scoring……….Shame!
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-4-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Jake Deehan of Team Cherry. Jake stopped all 24 shots he faced in his game. In doing so, Jake posted his second shutout of the season becoming the league leader in shutouts posted by a goalie. Jake’s play has been under the radar this season as he has been quietly moving up the goalie leaders with consistent play week to week.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 11-4-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Paul Correia of Team Cherry. Odelay, the Portuguese prodigal son has returned to the Over-30 league! In only his second game played since his return, Paul made an impact for his team, scoring 1-goal and adding 1-assist in his team’s shutout victory and second win in their last three games. Woooooo!
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-28-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to John Colucciello of Fool’s Gold. It seems that Cooch’s pre-game ritual of getting a hug from Kellie before his game finally paid off! Cooch led the way for his team to victory as he jump started the offense by scoring the game’s first two goals two minutes into the game, then added two assists, as his team won its third straight game. By the way Cooch you bastard, the league has mandated a new policy going forward of “no pre-game hugs with the Director’s wife.”
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-28-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Scott Rosato of Trojan Horse. Scott’s play for his team may fly under the radar at times and not get noticed but he has played very consistent this season, as evidenced by his team’s record. Scott helped his team get back into its winning ways by recording his first shutout of the season, stopping all 20 shots he faced.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-21-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Jason Carrien of Team Cherry. Jason had quiet an all-around game as he became the first defenseman to score a hat trick in a game, while also adding an assist. In scoring the game’s first two goals for his team he set the tempo for his team in a convincing blowout victory while also playing solid defense to preserve his goalie’s shutout. With his scoring production, Jason now leads his team in goals and points.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-21-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to John Carey of Maybe One. John played a solid game all around with some smart decision making on defense and timely jumping into the offense at strategic times. His goal late in the first period jump started his team’s offense as he started in his own defensive zone, made a great self-pass off the boards, jumped into the offense and buried his shot down low.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-14-17 |
| This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Tony Medeiros of Blues Brothers. With his team missing their entire second line and playing short-handed, Tony, aka the “Portuguese Power”, single-handedly broke open a close game in the third period, scoring a natural hat trick and adding an assist, to lead his team to victory and back into first place in the standings.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-14-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to John Kelleher of Fool’s Gold. Usually this award goes to the player who goes unnoticed in their game but still makes an impact. Leaving no doubt that his team would win this game, John made quite an impact in the five goal first period, as he scored 2-goals and added an assist, then went on to set up another two goals later in the game. All this filling in and playing defense for his team.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-7-17 |
| This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Sergio Costa of Fool’s Gold. With his team locked in a low scoring battle and needing someone to step up, Sergio did, scoring 2-goals to lead the way on offense. After which Sergio could be heard asking if anyone could smell what the Serg was cooking.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 10-7-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award co-winner # 1 goes to Todd Bryson of Blues Brothers. The rookie played an impactful role in his team’s performance.
With his Blues Brothers team missing its top two players and captain and facing off against the only other undefeated team in the league, Todd Bryson elevated his game by stepping up an scoring the game’s first 2-goals. In the battle of titans, Todd’s goals held up for most of the game, as his undermanned team outplayed their opponent, to ensure that his team walked away with points from this game.
This week’s Five Guys award co-winner # 2 goes to Sean Roach of Fool's Gold. The rookie played an impactful role in his team’s performance.
Missing three of his defenseman and his team looking to keep pace in the standings, goalie Sean Roach of Fool’s Gold played a huge role in his team winning their game. Locked in a defensive battle, with goals at a premium, Sean stopped 28 out of 29 shots he faced, many at key moments of the game, to lead his team in a much needed win.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9-30-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Alby Luise of Blues Brothers. With his team missing its captain and a big part of its offense, Alby stepped up big time in only giving up one goal and stopping 23 shots. Alby single-handedly kept his team in this game coming up with key save after key save until the offense got untracked. If it wasn’t for Alby, his team could have seen their first loss of the season instead of remaining undefeated.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9-30-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Jeff Deharo of Maybe One. Jeff played his best game of the season giving up only one goal and stopping 23 shots in back stopping his team to that all important first win of the season. Jeff was solid all game, looking sharp and coming up with that big key save when it was needed.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9-23-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Shawn Miville of Trojan Horse. Shawn scored 2-goals, each at key moments of his game, in leading his Trojan Horse team to their third straight win. For Shawn it was his second straight multi-goal game that moved him near the top of the leading scorers race.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9-23-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Alex Leone of Maybe One. Alex’s third period goal got his team back into their game, as they still search for their first win. As the veteran player of the no name defense on his team, Alex continues to lead by example with his rink awareness and positional play.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9-16-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Dominic Defrancisco of the Blues Brothers. Demonstrating once again why he is the best player in the Over-30 league and the real Portuguese Power (sorry Tony), Dominic got his team off to another fast start, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist in leading his team to another impressive victory. For the second week in a row, Dominic’s team played at a fast pace, constantly attacking the defense, and putting up six goals on the scoreboard.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9-16-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Dan Broderick of Team Cherry. Why? Dan Broderick scored 2-goals in an Over-30 game. Again, Dan Broderick scored 2-goals in an Over-30 game. This has never happened before! Dan’s goals accounted for most of the offense for his team in their debut loss. Dan proved that like any aging veteran player trying to score goals, when the velocity of your shot decreases, you adjust by developing pinpoint accuracy and using other players as screens.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9-9-17 |
This week’s Dunkin Donut winner goes to Mike Luise of the Blues Brothers. Looking like the former top player from his Team USA days, Mike played a big offensive role in his team getting off to a good start this season, factoring in on two of the first three goals his team scored and then setting up two insurance goals. Mike ended up scoring 1-goal and 3-assists and can proudly say that after the first week of the new season he is the leading scorer of the Over-30 league.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9-9-17 |
This week’s Five Guys award winner goes to Tim Hickey of the Blues Brothers. The former top goalie of the Over-30 league turned forward played a big role in setting the pace for his team, using his quickness, hustle and skinny legs to fore-check the other team’s defense resulting in turnovers, as he set up two of the game’s first three goals.
