Joe Shannon
The winner of the weekly AARP award is Joe Shannon of the Roadrunners.
With his short-handed and playing with only three defensemen, Joe played a lot of minutes and took over the quarterback role for his team on defense. Joe set up his team’s first goal.
His rink awareness, positioning and leadership were clearly evident. What also stood out was how effortlessly Joe did all the little things playing defense, including using his stick to constantly get in the way to break up any scoring chances. It was a classic example of anticipating the play and outthinking his opponent.

Rob Sheridan
The AARP Player of the Week award winner is Rob Sheridan of Justice League
After taking a prolonged absence of seventeen years from playing in the Over-30 league, Rob decided to come out of retirement and see if he could still keep up with the talent.
If week 1 is any indication, the answer is yes, as Rob factored in on both goals his team scored in posting a 2 – 0 shutout. As we have seen in the past, Rob makes heads up plays creating time and space for his team mates, while delivering pinpoint passes on their sticks.
Not a bad way to start the rebirth of his league career. We can’t wait to see what else Rob can do once he gets his running legs back!
