DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 4-9-16 |
WEEK # 15 (4-9-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is John Kelleher of Broken Promises. For most of this season, John had a lot going on, stepping in to captain his team when the regular captain was not there (6 times!), filling in and playing defense in multiple games, and sacrificing his own individual offense for the benefit of the team. Finally, on the last game of the season, John could relax and just concentrate on playing. The result was impressive as John scored 2-goals, had 3-assists and played a key role in his team winning their game.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 4-9-16 |
WEEK # 15 (4-9-16)
This week’s Five Guys Lunch Pail Gang Award winner goes to Mike Naczas of Island of Misfit Toys. Naz isn’t getting this award for his defense, or his offense. Rather, he is receiving this for making his debut as a goalie in the Over-30 league. For two periods Naz actually held his own and only allowed 2-goals against; however, fatigue set in during the third period after facing 35 shots on net and a few more that missed the net as Naz ended up surrendering 6-goals against in total. It’s not about the goals against here, it’s that Naz stepped up and took on this challenge. We can promise you now that after this effort by Naz, you will never hear the words “I shut out the Reckers” ever again from him!

DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 4-2-16 |
WEEK # 14 (4-2-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Dominic Defrancisco of HABitual Complainers. Dominic’s all around play in all three zones of the rink were on full display as he factored in on all three goals that his team scored, scoring 1-goal and adding 2-assists, while helping his team keep a shutout. Once again, Dominic simply did his job and led by example, getting ready for the showdown game for first place next week against Labatt Blue.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 4-2-16 |
WEEK # 14 (4-2-16)
This week’s Five Guys Lunch Pail Gang Award winner goes to Steve Iacoviello of Labatt Blues. Steve stepped up his defensive game to join the “big two” of Dan and Ray in shutting down their opponent and limiting their scoring chances. Steve’s aggressive attacking defensive style forced his opponents into turnovers that Steve quickly transitioned into scoring chances the other way. It looks like Steve is finally settling into his comfort zone in the Over-30 league.

DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-26-16 |
WEEK # 13 (3-26-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Bill Gardynski Jr. of Labatt Blues. After long overdue recognition of no goalies being recognized as a weekly individual award winner this season (some would even call it shameful), Junior finally put an end to that streak by stopping all 28 shots he faced in his game to record his third shut-out of the season. Junior tied his personal best for most shut-outs in a season, previously accomplished back in the winter 2011 season. Looks like Junior is heating up at the right time, allowing only 4 goals scored in his last three games.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-26-16 |
WEEK # 13 (3-26-16)
This week's Five Guys Lunch Pail Gang award winner is Ray Dow of Labatt Blues. Ray played a big role in his team’s victory, as he assisted on three of the first four goals scored by his team, then added another assist in for good measure. In addition, Ray dialed up a solid defensive effort in displaying his ball control skills while quarterbacking his team’s defense to help preserve the shut-out. With his four points, Ray moved into a tie for the overall lead in the defensemen scoring race.

DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-19-16 |
WEEK # 12 (3-19-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Anthony Lauletta of Labatt Blues. MAnthony had a monster impact game, leading his team to a blowout win. Anthony scored 4-goals, one of which was a key short-handed goal, while adding 1-assist. In the process, he scored three of the game's first five goals setting the stage for the rout. Anthony may just be heating up for the playoffs at the right time, scoring 7-goals in his last four games.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-19-16 |
This week’s Five Guys Lunch Pail Gang Award winner goes to Mike Luise of Consigliere. Mike had a big role in his team's offense, scoring 1-goal and assisting on a power play goal. Mike's rink awareness was on display, finding open team mates for scoring opportunities. For one game in his Dekhockey career, Mike tried his best to "look like" a Peabody Warrior player and not a Team USA player.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-12-16 |
WEEK # 11 (3-12-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Matty Iannello of Island of Misfit Toys. Most players talk a good game; very few can back it up with performance. With his team missing five players and staring at playoff elimination, Matty vowed this would not happen on his watch. Playing the entire game and leading by example, the Great One set up a key first period goal then scored the game winner in the third period resulting in his team earning their first win of the season. Rumor his it that Naz gave this award to Matty and not Carlos as a peace offering to end Matty constantly yelling at him on and off the rink.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-12-16 |
This week’s Five Guys Lunch Pail Gang Award winner goes to Carlos Machado of Island of Misfit Toys. Carlos took it upon himself to step up for his short-handed team by scoring two crucial goals in the first period, that inspired his team to win their first game of the season and stay alive in the playoff race. Carlos' goals set the tone for this game and gave his team a much needed boost in confidence. For this week, Carlos was THE Portuguese Power player of the Over-30 league!
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-5-16 |
WEEK # 10 (3-5-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Niko of Broken Promises. There hasn't been a lot of positive news for Island of Misfit Toys and Niko this season. In a breakout offensive performance we have been waiting all season to witness, Niko was the offensive sniper his team has been looking for, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist in leading his team in their biggest offensive scoring output all season. Niko just missed scoring the game winner in overtime as the scrambling goalie flashed out the left pad to prevent the goal.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 3-5-16 |
This week’s Five Guys Lunch Pail Gang Award winner goes to Jason Glista of HABitual Complainers. Making a fashion statement by wearing his trademark red helmet that matches his game shirt, Jason seamlessly moved up in the defensive rankings for his team, taking on the number 1 role. In the biggest game of the season for his team, Jason played a big role, as he set up two of his team's three goals scored, and shut down Shawn Miville in keeping him off the score sheet.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-27-16 |
WEEK # 9 (2-27-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Nick Romano of Broken Promises. Nick became the only repeat winner of the Player of the Week award this season with his 4-goals and 1 assist effort in his game, as NICK WAS the offense for his team, factoring in on almost every goal scored by his team. How hot is NICKY? He now leads the league in goals scored with 11, and had scored 9 goals in his last four games played.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-27-16 |
This week’s Five Guys Lunch Pail Gang Award winner goes to Alex Leone of Broken Promises. In his team's big win this week, Alex did not find his name on the game sheet scoring and goals or assists. Rather , it was his all around defensive effort on the rink in shutting down his opponents, while controlling the defensive zone. Alex stepped up this week with his ball control and positioning, as he was one of the top defensemen this week.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-20-16 |
WEEK # 8 (2-20-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Shawn Miville of Labatt Blues. Posting his second hat trick of the season, Shawn remains on fire with his seventh goal scored in his last three games played. Shawn is starting to pull away from the scoring leaders pack as he recorded his sixth straight multi-point game. Can you say “el fuego?”
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-20-16 |
This week’s Five Guys Lunch Pail Gang Award winner goes to George Medeiros of Island of Misfit Toys. There hasn’t been much to shout about for Island of Misfit Toys this season as they remain winless. However, don’t tell that to George as he continued to show up and perform regardless of his team’s record. George hustled all game in the offensive and defensive zones, scoring a goal and adding an assist.

DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-13-16 |
WEEK # 9 (2-27-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Nick Romano of Broken Promises. Nick became the only repeat winner of the Player of the Week award this season with his 4-goals and 1 assist effort in his game, as NICK WAS the offense for his team, factoring in on almost every goal scored by his team. How hot is NICKY? He now leads the league in goals scored with 11, and had scored 9 goals in his last four games played.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-13-16 |
WEEK # 7 (2-13-16)
This week's Five Guys winner is Tim Hickey of Labatt Blues. Tim's hustle the entire game was rewarded with a key goal scored late in the second period that was the key goal of his game. Tim generated 3 shots on net as a direct result of the constant running game of his second line. Tim's rink awareness was showcased as he was in perfect position to break up some prime scoring chances by his opponent.

DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-6-16 |
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Jason Glista of HABitual Complainers. We all know there are two Jason's on HABitual Complainers and usually it is the "other" Jason who gets the press and catches people's eyes. For this week, it was Jason Glista, who stepped up his overall game and played like a franchise defenseman. Jason's key goal halfway through his game was a game changing goal, as he joined the offense on a rush, and broke a tie game. It was timely and changed the momentum of this game. Not only did Jason impact the offense, but, he also played shutdown defense as the defense accounted for two of the three goals scored by his team.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 2-6-16 |
WEEK # 6 (2-6-16)
This week's Five Guys winner is Rick Cassano of Consigliere. With his team short-handed on defense, Rick stepped up and filled in, playing solid all-around game to help Consigliere break a three game losing streak. Rick played a smart defensive game in limiting the opposing team's scoring opportunities, and helped settle down the play in his defensive zone. It was Rick's keep in at the point that led to the eventual game winning goal, assisting on a key insurance goal.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-30-16 |
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Mauro Colucciello of Broken Promises. Mauro had a breakout game, scoring a natural hat trick to account for a majority of his team's offensive in their win and lead his team to their second win in their last two games. Mauro just missed scoring a fourth goal that game within inches of crossing the goal line if not for the hustle and heads-up play by a senior defenseman who took a year off with his first game back in the league where he belongs.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-30-16 |
WEEK # 5 (1-30-16)
This week's Five Guys winner is Brian Kehoe of HABitual Complaniers. With his team playing short-handed, missing most of their top line and top defenseman, and trailing by three goals after one period, Brian played a key role in an almost miraculos comeback that fell just short in overtime. His continuous hustle and all around play led to him setting up 2-goals. Originally drafted as a second winger, we have watched Brian quickly develop into an all-around center anchoring the best second line in the league.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-23-16 |
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Walter Maslak of Labatt Blues. Perhaps playing on the same line as Shawn Miville is rubbing off on Walter as he had a major impact game, factoring in on every goal that his team scored, with 1 goal and 5-assists, in their shutout victory. Walter was Johnny on the spot, finding himself in the right place at the right time throughout his game.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-23-16 |
WEEK # 4 (1-23-16)
This week's Five Guys winner is Mark Stickney of Labatt Blues. KWe won't embarras Mark and mention how two weeks ago he showed up for his game at 6:00 PM only to find out his team played at 5:00 PM (Im sorry Mark it slipped out). Mark played his best offensive game this year in the Over-30 league by scoring 2 key goals breaking open a close game in the second period, and assisting on another goal.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-16-16 |
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Joe Carlton of HABitual Complainers. In his team's surprisngly easy blowout victory, Joe led all scores with 3-goals and 3-assists and led all shooters with 8 shots on net. The big pay day in points lifted Joe into second place overall amongst the leading scores.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-16-16 |
WEEK # 3 (1-16-16)
This week's Five Guys winner is Gary Goodwin of Labatt Blues. Known primarily for his physical running fore checking and defensive back checking game, Gary threw an element of surprise into the equation by scoring 2-goals, giving his team some breathing room late in their victory. It should be noted that Gary's line accounted for 4 of his team's 6 goals scored, as Gary's line accounted for 17 of the 35 shots thrown on net, with Gary taking 7 of the these shots.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-9-16 |
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is Niko Vramis of Broken Promises. Niko, held in check offensively for most of this game, broke out when it mattered, as he set up the game tying goal halfway through the third period, then followed that up with the game winning goal early in overtime on a great shot from the right wing. Coincidentally, the Colucciello brothers were not at the game, once again reinforcing the perception that when they are present, they hold back Niko from fulfilling his hockey potential.
FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-9-16 |
WEEK # 2 (1-9-16)
This week's Five Guys winner is Steve Witkus of Consigliere. A nomad fill-in player all last season finally landed on a permanent team for the spring season after a 6 ½ hiatus from the Over-30 league. Steve scored a goal in his first game playing for Consigliere, but, more importantly he brought something that the team was missing all last season, a tournament level, franchise quarterback defenseman and leader. And it showed.
DUNKIN DONUT PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-2-16 |
WEEK # 1 (1-2-16)
This week's Dunkin Donut winner is John "the codfather" Leite of HABitual Complainers. Usually overshadowed by his more flashy Portuguese Power duo team mates Tony and Dom, the Codfather had a big impact in his team's first game of the new season. Not only did the Codfather score the game's first goal three minutes into this game, he assisted on the go ahead goal and later scored his second goal. How much did the Codfather stand out in this game you ask? He looked like a Tony mini-me taking 7 shots in this game, 5 in the third period alone.

FIVE GUYS PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1-2-16 |
WEEK # 1 (1-2-16)
The winner of the Five Guys Lunch Pail Gang Award goes to John Kelleher of Broken Promises. It wasn't what John did on the score sheet (0 points) or shots taken (3). With his team playing short-handed with only one sub, John played the entire game on defense, using his skills and hockey smarts to play a ball control game, great positioning and used his rink awareness while staying on the rink so his team mates could take a rest. The defensive combination of John with John Colucciello kept this game close for two periods before the effects of playing short-handed finally caught up to the team.
