The Over-30 League has always been an “invitational” league with new players being added through an existing player recommending them, vouching for their skills and their character.
Based on a player’s dual season commitment.., “The Draft” style concept is created and balanced solely by the League Director. First the Captain(s) and Assistant Captain(s) are assigned, and players are drafted based on position, skill level, age, speed, character, chemistry, and past performances.
Each team consists of 12-players (7-forwards, 4-defenseman and 1-goalie). The draft is usually completed by late June with jersey order being placed in early July. Team Captains will then be contacted in late August with their respective team roster and team colors with the team names and team logos determined by the Team naming Committee.
For players not drafted initially, they end up on a reserve (fill-in list) of players to “fill-in” as needed when a team is short-handed, or if a player quits and/or is expelled from the league.
