One of the Over-30 league’s most dependable players who can still run with the younger players (even if he can be seen huffing and puffing along the way), Nicky never backed away from taking a shot from anywhere on the rink he didn’t like. His straight ahead, shoot-first pass later style has resulted in Nick always finding himself in the top ten scorers each season of the Over-30 league. Nick is one of the best team players to have on your team as he is just as comfortable centering the second line or first line and producing the same quality results. One of the most liked players in the league, wearing his favorite number 21, Nick is a true team player who gives you 100% every shift of every game.
Playing in his 37th season, Nick has crafted a successful career in the Over-30 league, winning 6 championships, 4th overall in career points with over 600 points and closing in on 300 goals scored during his playing tenure. His goal production is somewhat surprising knowing that Nick is notorious for never scoring on a breakaway, which means he either should have scored more goals or saw he had a chance at a breakaway and ended up passing the ball to a team mate instead. Another of the Over-30’s blue collar-type of centers, Nick will tell you he is playing to “get a run in and a workout;” however, we know better, as Nick is an intense competitor on the rink, but, does so with class.
Rumors & Facts:
- Bought Matty Iannello’s book called “The Move”.., but never read it. Hence his lack of ability on a Penalty Shot and/or breakaway
- Surprisingly still has descent speed for an elder statesmen
- Never met a shot he didn’t like
- Leads the league in bad angled and fluky goals
- Has a 10-1, Shot to Pass ratio
- Leads the league in all-time face-offs shot out of the rink
- Interesting Fact: All (6) of Nick's championships have been back-to-back
- Drops his plow blade and starts the meter at the first snowflake, even if it’s just plowing sparks.
- A dependable committed player who will be there every week ready to play, unless of course it is snowing outside. Then, you will find him “allegedly” working 48 straight hourly shifts plowing the Commonwealth’s roads keeping us all safe.
