He may not look like it, but, Jim is one of the Over-30 league’s most all around role players when it comes to playing either defense (his natural position) or moving up to play forward. Another proud member of the Over-30’s blue collar lunch pail gang, you can classify Jim as a chameleon that blends in to any team style and adapts to any position he is asked to play.
A solid middle of the pack defenseman, Jim has an underrated shot from the point that will produce the occasional goal, and you can always find Jim in the top 8 scorers for defensemen. Jim’s occasional stick handling rushes for glory from the defensive zone usually produces a mixed bag of results; either he will look like the slick playmaker in setting up a team mate for a prime scoring chance, or he will turn the ball over resulting in a prime scoring chance for the opposing team. When you see Jim rush the ball, you hold your breath because you don’t know which result is in the cards.
Now playing in his 34th season, Jim’s versatility of being able to play any position has made him a valuable player in the Over-30 league, especially when it comes to setting up the draft. In addition, Jim is one of the Over-30 leagues most dependable players who commits to being there every week for his team.
A solid defenseman, Jim will give you an honest effort every game.
Rumors & Facts
- Started his street hockey career during the early 80’s in Lynn’s Mayflower parking lot.
- He was considered the best defenseman the infamous D3 Knight Hawks ever had
- Once had an actual “Spin Move” that worked.., back in the day!!
- Statically made the same mistake others have made by of uttering the infamous phrase of “Guaranteeing to break the Dave Hill curse”…, and while playing on the same team with “The Curse”, together they “guaranteed” a last place finish and no trip to the playoffs. Nice call Jimmy!!
- Has a collection of THOUSNDS of Albums, 8 tracks, and Cassettes.., should anyone still have a Record Player, 8-track or Cassette Deck.., they can borrow some 80’s music from Jimmy.
- Several co-workers at Stop and Shop have filed complaints with Management in regards to Jim’s annoying and nightly Karaoke sessions. According to our insiders math: 8-hours a night x 48 weeks a year x 25 years.., and he still can’t hit the high notes.
- His drink of choice as a youth… Ouzo (smells like black licorice and tastes worse).., thus earning him the nickname “Take Two” because that's the last words that he would utter before the most violent upheaval mess anybody has ever seen in the history of drinking games. The smell of black licorice and un-chewed Italian sub left the Knight Hawks gagging.
