Spring 2026 Forum

We’re back after a brief ailment that went through the league’s front office.… The Forum is officially on to the 2026 Spring Season, or as Dave Costa wants it to be called the “2025-2026 Poo Bears Back-to-Back Championship Seasons”.

Once again, we started the season with a lot of moving parts and hopefully nothing like last season.

One of the teams vying for “Most Improved” is going to be Cam-A-Lot as they had a complete overhaul from their original draft team.

Superbowl Squares

Nice job Tony Medeiros on the leagues next fundraising event… Superbowl LX Squares.

Tony and his henchmen have been pushing the $20 squares and after just two weeks and about 30-minutes of actual selling time, they sold over 70-squares, and that number doesn’t include the league’s heavy hitter for sports action, Lee Nogler.

But don’t be sad if you missed out… Rumor has it Tony might start another $10 pool after this one officially sells out, so don’t put your wallets away just yet if you want more action.

Cold & Flu Season

Tis the season for cold &flu, along with all the ailments that accompany winter.   Thankfully we don’t have to resort to those 2019 CDC Guidelines from the 2020 Déjà Flu Season.

Remember when we all took turns coming into the building at designated times and masking up for games.

We’ve already seen a wave of sickness run through the league.  Mike Duggan missed opening day and who knows how many goals… so if you’re sick (Stay home!) your points don’t mean that much.

Penalty Clarification

If there is a “Bench Minor” penalty… “Anyone” can serve the penalty.  It doesn’t matter who jumps in the box first, or who was on the floor.  You can change the player in the box 10-times if you want to (until the ball is dropped).  The Revolution argued the same thing unsuccessfully in the playoffs, when a player jumped into the box to serve a bench minor (and then jumped out).

So just to be clear… “Bench Minor” penalty = “Anyone” can serve the penalty.

Since we need to cover 2-weeks’ worth of highlights (and there wasn’t that many)… We are doing a high-level wrap up of the previous two weeks to get you caught up on the season thus far.

The Hangover

The first week of the 2026 Spring Season started with an upset, as the Poo Bears dropped the first game of the season, probably due to their championship hangover. 

Rob Sheridan who is officially “Great Again” started the 2026 Spring Season scoring with the first goal of the season… but that was the only Poo Bears highlight as Capo Zero went on to have (5) different players score a goal in the 5-2 loss of the defending champs.

Unofficial Wins?

Who would have thought Cam-A-Lot would open the season on the top of the standings… but not without a little controversy.  They beat a watered-down (flu riddled) Tommy Guns team, with the GWG coming from their fill-in player Ricky Cassano… and then they followed up that win with a 1-0 shutout over The Revolution, and the one lone goal of the game was also from another fill-in payer Angelo De Luca. 

So, the question is, did Cam-A-Lot really win those games?

Pink Responder

Mark Stickney looks good during his first two games back.  We watched Mark return to his former glory of winning faceoff draws and running around getting involved in the offense as he has an assist in each of his team’s games.

It’s probably a little too early to speculate… but Mark’s points could be directly related to his previous failure as he’s taking the pre-game warmups seriously in his “Pink Shirt”.

Scoring for Three

Dominic DeFrancisco is back scoring goals… losing Nick Doherty for the return of Mark Stickney means that Dom must up his goal production to cover Nick’s loss and Mike O’Neill’s goal scoring slumps. 

Like a pregnant woman carrying twins, Dom is scoring for three now.  If only Dom scored in the semi-finals last season… we might have seen a better game in the finals, and a different Portuguese outcome.

Guns Blazing

Once again Tommy Guns are coming out firing with their league leading 10-goals… as two familiar faces top the leader board.  The “Young Guns” of Mike Duggan & Patrick Spencer have 11-points while the “old colt revolver” Jimmy “Orr” Clark is sitting just outside the bubble with 3-points.

With “Poopsie” scoring a hat trick in his first game of the season, and needing 18-goals to complete his “Pink Shirt Challenge”… it’s not a question of “if”… it’s a question of “when”?

“When will Mike Duggan score 18-goals?”… Before (or after) Week #12?

Let’s put a little extra added pressure and ask “Doo-gan” what week (he) thinks he’ll complete the challenge by?

Goalies Corner

Dale McIssac takes the first real ass kicking of the season for the goalies with a 7-1 loss to Tommy Guns who scored 7-consecutive goals before his captain Angelo De Luca ruined AJ Larabee’s shutout attempt with 3:23 left to play.

Dale is what we would refer to as “Duggan’s Bitch” as Mike Duggan had 3-goals and 3-assists… while Dale had 7-reasons why none of the goals were his fault.

Congratulations Anthony Petrillo who recorded the first shutout of the season with a 1-0 win over The Revolution.  Anthony has two shutouts in his short Over-30 Hockey career, and both were against The Revolution.  So, for those teams needing a last-minute goalie vs The Revolution, ask Billy if Anthony can fill in for your team… you might get a win via the shutout.
