Double Winners
One of the biggest wins of the weekend happened on Saturday when The Revolution finally won their first game of the season with a 3-2 win over Cam-A-Lot. Captain Jim Barber continued his goal scoring streak with 2-goals (including the GWG) and extended his streak to 4-games.
Poo for “Poopsie”
Poo Bears were the only team to go 2-0 over the double-header weekend… thanks in part to a “fill-in” player. Mike “Poopsie” Duggan filled in on defense for the Poo Bears and ended up scoring 2-goals in their 3-2 win in overtime against the First Responders on Saturday.
Unfortunately for “Poopsie” his 2-goals means nothing towards his 18-goal Pink Shirt Challenge… and the real question is: Does the OT win count if scored by a “fill-in” player?
On Sunday it was Rob Sheridan taking the reins (1-assist and 1-GWG) with just 2-minutes left to play in the third to solidify their double-header, double-win weekend.
Goal Scorers
“Lil” George Medeiros and Mike O’Neill were last weekends leading scorers with each of them scoring 3-goals and 1-assist. George put all his eggs in one basket when he went crazy with a natural hat trick (including the GWG) as no one picked up “Lil” George hiding in the slot for 3-goals to kill any momentum for The Revolution.
Meanwhile Mike only needed the back of his stick on Sunday to score his team’s first and last goal of the game with two beautiful, backhanded goals during their win over Capo-Zero
Jim Barber was the only other player to score 3-goals over the weekend to extend his goal scoring streak to 5-games… and a 4-point lead over Mike Naczas in their side bet.
Helpers
A couple of players didn’t score any actual goals… but they did have a weekend full of assists.
Angelo “Kato” De Luca and Joe “Guido” Conary both had a weekend of “helpers” but no goals to show for their efforts. “Kato” and “Guido” both had 4-assists to join George Medeiros and Mike O’Neill as the only 4-players with 4-points.
“The Domfather” Dominic DeFrancisco just missed the 4-assist cut with his 3-assist weekend.
