Hall of Fame Update

The new Kellie “Aylwin” Abcunas induction page has been added to the hall along with the ceremonial photos.

Rumor has it a certain ALD was overheard taunting Matty Iannello at the MISI BBQ with “How does it feel to have Kellie beat you into the Hall of Fame?”

All those records and all those championships and she still got in before “The Great One” .

Defensive Groceries

Congratulations Alex Leone on winning another award courtesy of the league.  Alex won a $150 Gift Certificate to Market Basket. Which brings his total winnings for the season to $190 in tax refunds, and now his Winter Season dues are just $160 (after tax refunds).

Alex’s win comes on the heels of Jamie Kehoe and his win of a $150 Gift Certificate to Market Basket.  Apparently, playing defense helps put food on the table.

Tighter Competition

With the recently upgraded rosters (if you got one)… all the teams are now built for tighter competition.  However, don’t be surprised if the league continues to look at additional new players (before we close the rosters) in a few weeks.

With unpredicted injuries or unforeseen circumstances, the league wants to have players on the waiting list ready for action, should duty call.

So, we don’t want to hear any bitching about… “Why is this person filling-in, or why did they get him?”… (they) might be auditioning for a future draft position, and/or maybe your job (less the bitching of course).

Senior Hat Trick

The biggest storyline for the 4:30 game has to be one of our most senior players stepping up bigtime for his team.

With Mike O’Neill, Ray Nickerson and Nick Doherty out of the line-up… it was up to First Responder John Kelleher to take the scoring reigns and bag himself a hat trick last week.

We’re no “Naz-tradamus” but we think a $40 Kanes Donuts Gift Certificate is in John’s future…. We’ll also shake the Magic 8 Ball to see what it says (shake) “Ask Again Later”

So, John you may (or may not) be getting free donuts… but nice work on your “First Response” on playing with Dominic DeFrancisco.

Sharp Dressed Man

Does Timmy “Tito” Burke take pre-game music requests?   No wait, Donny Maccini doesn’t know what pre-game warmups are…, but if he did show up for his team warmups, we would request ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man”

It’s nice to see Donny Maccini looking like a more semi-professional player in his matching uniform, and a little less homeless with his girdle straps showing.

Last week he was witnessed wearing the team logo shorts… and they appear to also help Donny’s points game… as he assisted with both goals for his team.

Which makes us wonder if Tony Medeiros is clamping down on the team’s image and dress code… and (if so) maybe as the league’s “Director of Fundraising” can he help Donny get some new equipment… maybe start “Donations for Donny” a non-profit charity focused on getting matching shin pads, and new gloves.

Try, Try Again

The quote, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again," was popularized in 1836 by William Edward Hickson.   Fast forward 189-years later in 2025 and it was another guy with the name Edward that put that phrase to use.

Eddie “The Chin” Chin showed everyone in Hecklers Row what persistence and success looks like.

Brian “Cappy” Capodilupo sent Eddie in on a breakaway… only to be stopped by goaltender Anthony Petrillo… but when he “try, tried” again “The Chin” stuffed in his own rebound… which turned out to be the eventual GWG, and all to the delight of those chuckling  Hecklers.

With Eddie’s GWG on a breakaway…, “The Chin” was beaming after the game and strutting around.  Just remember Eddie… “Confucius say; man with hand in pocket feel cocky all day.”

“The Last Of…”

We haven’t finished going through the list… but Jason Carrien might be the “Last of the Mohicans” to remain undefeated. 

Since joining The Revolution Jay is 2-0.  Jason’s impact as a #1 defenseman has The Revolution on a 2-game winning streak and in the “HOT” column in the standings

However, the real test comes this Saturday against Cam-A-Lot, when Jay will face off against the #1 Draft Pick Cam Long in his much-anticipated return to the lineup.

No Business

We heard Capo-Zero captain Angelo De Luca was going around after their 3-2 loss chirping and saying, “They had no business winning that game”.

"O contraire monfrair" that’s French for… You had no business blowing a 2-0 lead… which everyone knows that is the worst lead in hockey to have.

Steve Silveira’s top corner powerplay goal tied it up 2-2 before Rich Pelletier somehow snuck a weird GWG in from the side on Dale McIssac.

Jason Carrien figured in on both of their goals to snap Capo-Zero’s 4-game unbeaten streak.  We’re just wondering if former Revolution player Rob Greene might have been a secret double agent for his former team and helped toss a win their way for old time’s sake as a parting gift from Rob to The Revolution.

Son’s Wish

We heard that Angelo De Luca’s son Max has now issued a challenge to his dad and Capo-Zero… He would like to witness a championship before he goes off to college. 

Max, we ask you… “What year in college?”  Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior… and does that include an extra four more years if you get your Masters Degree?

Come on Capo-Zero… you have one dedicated fan following the team each week, can you grant that fan his one wish?

Oh, and Max, just in case, ask for a backup wish… something like;

(If) my dad loses another championship attempt… “I wish to go to Spring Break flush with cash”

Hot to Cold

Uh-oh… the once promise sons of the league Tommy Guns went from “red hot to ice cold” with two straight losses… and it’s not going to get any easier for them this week as we hear Tommy Gallagher, Mike Duggan and Johnathan Caffarrella are all out for Tommy Guns.

The new BIG-3 of Tommy Gallagher, Mike Duggan and Patrick Spencer are still on the top of the leaderboard… but their reign of the top 3 might come to an end this weekend with players like Pedro Fontes and Manny Nunes sniffing around the top spots.

Let me grab the Magic 8 Ball again… “Will Pedro Fontes crack the top three on the leaderboard this week?”  Let’s see what it says (shake) “Does Shit Stink”

I don’t remember that specific Magic 8 Ball answer, but apparently “Yes” Pedro will have his photo in the top 3 Scoring Leaders next week.

Poopsie’s Binky

We might have one of the root causes of last week’s 5-3 loss to Poo Bears.  Mike “Poopsie” Duggan was playing without his binky Patrick Spencer.

Without Pat in the lineup, Mike only had 1-goal… and without Pat, Poo Bears top draft pick Rob Sheridan could easily focus on shutting Mike down… along with shutting down his former fellow USA teammate Tommy Gallagher.

With both Tommy Gallagher and Mike Duggan out of the line up this week… We’re going to see if Patrick Spencer has a team binky… You’re on your own Pat, show them what you got!

The Doctor is out

Rob Sheridan is 1-spot out of the Top-10 in scoring with 8-points… but “Dr Rob’s” not struggling with scoring… his struggles are attendance related.

Rob is almost back to 100% after his “lower body injury” that he suffered in pre-game warmups during the jamboree last spring when he stepped on a ball.  Rob is now starting to fly around the offensive zone, setting players up effortlessly and feeling like the Rob of old.

Rob is rumored to be out this week with his captain Dave Costa… which makes us wonder are their cheap flights to Florida this weekend?

The Over-30 already had a “Sniglet” for icing… It’s called “Suretting” the act of continuously icing the ball… and we think we found a few more, but we’ll let Mr. Rogers explain the first one.

So, when a player on the Poo Bears, makes a pass to another teammate, and that player misses a prime scoring opportunity… it’s called a “Shart”… as that initial playmaking player “Should’ve Had Assist Recorded, you Turd!

Then when a player on the Poo Bears, misses a wide-open net or misses another golden opportunity to score… it’s called “Trombleying”

“Trombleying” is when you are nervous and trembling that Rob Sheridan is going to call you out after missing a prime scoring chance.
